Maple and Oak serving trays from some old pallet wood I had been using for raised garden beds.
We recently replaced our sofa and love seat for a Sectional and found out you can't have many side tables with a sectional so instead I made a tray for our ottoman.

What a cool idea on the crosscut sled for cutting grooves for the miter splines! I've seen a ton of videos, but never saw that idea before. Great video

+WoodRodent Thanks, I'm only using one tray right now and am thinking of using the other to hold potted plants to bring in and out of the sun room. I thought that would be a fitting use.

That's amazing that the wood would still be useful after being IN the ground for so long.

Yes, as a retired Industrial Arts (AKA "shop") teacher, it made my teeth clench when I saw how close the hands were coming to that blade--and wearing long sleeves, too. I was rather sticky about safety "back in the day" and my students, even now after 35+ years have passed (and I still stay in contact with more than 60 of my former 8th/9th grade students via Facebook), they tell me that they still abide by the rules we agreed upon back in the '70s. Still, to this day, I make sure I don't wear long sleeves or loose clothing...and I remove all jewelry when working. Safety pays! I'm not trying to be critical or judgmental, just observant and encouraging to others to keep all their fingers and other body parts.

Hey Michael, you're not being very safe. I've cringed few times when your hand was directly over the saw blade to pick up your pieces at the end feed. Use your push stick to push the piece out of the way. Got it?

I turned a 2x3 stud into a serving tray, without drawing any plans.
