I was sanding and not really paying attention to the smoke detectors until it started to get smoky then that's when I looked where the detectors were.. by the time I looked I saw the red led lit.

Don't fear bad I have done that a few times one time I was baking cookies at the cafe I used to work at just a little bit of smoke the fire alarm went off it was a cafe in a bookstore caused a fairly large fire department response bookstore being evacuated them the fire department had to vent out the smoke 2 other stores where evacuated too.

@@SubaruB4RSK yes indeed fire alarms don't take much just smoke even smell of burnt toast all it needs.

Advantage about being an enthusiast: You are the only random citizen to know how to silence an alarm until the fire department shows up to reset the system. (If your allowed to idk, never done it myself..)

I had access to the FACP that's why but in the case of this it was set off by mistake because the smoke from the wood cutting set off the smoke detector nearby, if I told the alarm company to disregard any alarms because of working being done from say 1-4 hours if it went off then the fire department would not been called out.

He's not going to get fined or in any trouble because it was an accident and he had no intentions of setting it off when there is no emergency. Yesterday, someone activated the Simplex fire alarm system in my apartment because they were smoking close to the smoke detector.

Sorry just seeing this, no did not get fined or in trouble the detector was about 30 Ft away and when I saw the red light come on I was like oh boy.. One of the days I decided I did not need to call the alarm station to tell them I was going to be doing work.

Most times if it was an they wont fine you unless you have done it more than 2 times or more i have accidentally set off fire alarm at the bookstore where the cafe I at work is. I had burned some cookies and the smoke set off the smoke alarm tripping the fire alarm oops!

Should’ve been. Common sense tells a person to look around and if you see smoke detectors cover them or call the alarm company no matter what.

Its been silenced as you can see the panel is lit up system silenced means horns are shut off but lights will continue to flash until the fire system is reset.

@@CorSMG4 It's the worst with the beam detector it was always the right side it would fall out of alignment due do the building on that side so I would always get a supervisory alarm on just the right detector maybe 1-2 times a month the switch you see on the sub-panel is for when the supervisory comes on it just makes a continuous tone.
