Oh wow, Pablo, that is high praise. Thank you very much! If you're looking for another one of my favourites - the most recent episode with Kim Chestney is a stand-out. We actually talk about Seth as an example of a creative visionary.

I never get tired of Seth Godin videos. When I finish "This is Marketing" which I read a little and reflect, I will get his book "The practice". Even though I don't have an invention or idea that is marketable yet I put into practice the rest of his principles. I also need to learn how to use the internet tools to get my message out to others I can help. Work in progress. I hope in a few months to change that to "Work in practice". :-)

Thank you, Dr Diane! I'm happy to know it resonated with you. I listened to it last week so I could appreciate it again. Hearing him tell me to let go of having expectations that anyone will look/listen/read made me laugh the way I wished I had at the time. Did anything in particular resonate with you?

Seth keeps blaming the industrialzed society, probably for good reasons. How on earth do we want to keep markets up and running, if we want to enter a totally split up business world where each and everybody follows a dream and own business idea?

Hi Robert-Jan, thanks for your thoughtful comment and question. I gave it some thought on my walk this morning. I've spent a lot of time in Seth's and/or Akimbo workshops these past three years. I think Seth is a visionary and a bit of an idealist at times, not an anti-capitalist. My take on his critique of industrialized society is it's the result of the industrial mindset which yields predictable results that define most of what exists today. The underlying assumption is that a lot of what exists today is not working as well as it could. To shift that, it means leaders need to step beyond the industrial mindset. Seth's audience is not primarily traditional (read industrial) business people, although he is listened to and followed by many in traditional business. It's "creatives." Just like it's not realistic that everyone be in the top 1 or 10%, it's not realistic for everyone to follow their own business idea. But it is possible for anyone who wants to, to create something that may or may not thrive as a business. This podcast is an example - I started it in 2017 as a passion project, before I knew of Seth. It's only recently become something I am looking at as a potential viable source of meaningful income in and of itself. Some podcasts - mostly started by famous people - are immediately viable. For someone like me it means showing up consistently, creating something that enough people find enough value in that they will share it with others, and creating avenues of financial support. It's all creative work, and it's based on a "dream," but it is not for everyone. A lot of days I question if it's for me! Which, to your point, is a good thing. On the macro level, changing things takes time and critical mass. Creative thought and innovation beyond the industrial mindset is just as important in the boardroom as it is in the home office I use to create this podcast. I don't think I've ever heard Seth say "let's blow it all up," but I can't possibly consume every bit of content he creates or is featured in! No matter what, he gets us thinking and communicating with each other. It was a pleasure and an intellectual workout hosting him and I'd have him back any time. When I do, I will ask him your question.
