Correction: In the Sierramisu graphic, the cake was colored green, as if dyed by the soda, whereas Sierra Mist is actually a clear soda. Only the bottle is green.

This is my favorite section 🥰 I absolutely love how Seth doesn't hide his writers, it gives the whole show a touch of sincerity many other good comedy shows lack.

Also I love the sense we get that his writers are the ones pulling the strings and this is Seth’s only way to push back. it’s like permissive parents begging their kids to just stop and please try, if you want , to be better behaved, please.

Honestly, "The heart intended for your grandma" sounds like a Michael Che punchline. Also, the peanut butter one was a bit of a slow burn, but I liked it.

I loved that heart joke because **rant** until the nineties the American Heart Association only funded heart research for old white men. My son was born with a heart defect in 1987. He died in 2004. In the meantime Dick Cheney was getting a state of the art treatment.

1:29 apparently I wasn't the only one who heard _"Scollins_ celebrated Burns supper" instead of Scotland, the closed captions say the same thing 😂 on listening to it again, I think he does say Scotland but like Scollins was still on his mind from the joke before 😅

I feel like there's a point where Karen shows Seth a piece of paper, and Seth is like "What is this?", and Karen is like "It's the cost of rent in New York we need a raise", and the whole writing team appears on set with arms crossed. (Real talk though.. we might really be looking at a writer's union strike soon, regardless of how well Seth treats his team. Rumblings be getting louder.)

Some of these portmanteaus required really careful pronunciation, so hats off to Seth. (I'm sure he worked extra hard to make sure the jokes would fall flat on the premise, rather than the delivery. :)

This Segment is one of my favorites because it really allows you to actually get to know the writers, because laughing at their good jokes is great n all, but seeing their failures, really to their desperate attempts to submit content shows much more about them than any joke that butchers the audience.

Jackal from Denmark here to teach you a bit of English/American grammar and phonetics: When it is formulated "The country needS a new new voice," ... the pun makes sense (as far as puns goes, as opposed to if the offending writer had written "His slogan is "I am a new new voice," or other phrases lacking the S in the politicians name.

@@kgrim024 it took me a minute because my brain interpreted it literally at first and I was like "what does sitting in a puddle have to do with this?" but it's referring to the fact that older women find Anderson Cooper and Prince Harry both very attractive. The puddle she's sitting in is coming from her vagina.

I think I figured it out. Jokes credited to no one here are likely the work of the funny man on the mike. He did write for a living before this gig. Head write even. Appreciate his craft.

3:39 At least for me, the "uh" sound in how Seth pronounced Sununu is a reasonable substitute for the A in "A New New" and the S sound blends in with the end of "needs"
