Great episode! I’m Teochew and I appreciate the showcase. Enjoyed this episode! Lol Gary and his roving eye. And not too sure if it was done for comic effect, at the PG restaurant, Seth with that frame cut off and background seems like he was commenting from the lavatory.

you should have start with the teochew restaurant i think in Upper Serangoon Rd Shopping center. The other is Shatow, Toa Payoh. Or you can go to Peng Restaurant at Lorong 1 Realty Park - no frill cheap restaurant. Have fun.

Kway Teow (Teochew) is the type of flat white noodle. Hor Fun (Cantonese) is broader and thicker.

Bro, the map is wrong...that's in Zhejiang province. You cannot find Chaoshan on the map, you can only find Teochew/Chaozhou or Swatow/Shantou. The Teochew region actually refers to these two cities plus Jieyang city nowadays.

Is 潮汕地區 Not 潮山。潮汕地區：潮州．．汕頭 All closed to the sea! That’s why most good Teo chee food came with seafood ingredients.

hahaha I thought I was the only one thinking that. always wonder if the food were served in some high class western setting, would he have the same reaction 😂. they cringe at pork jelly but are the same people who rave about French escargots and foie gras. it's all about the context sometimes.
