My old brick laying teacher , dressed in his clean brown warehouse coat, polished boots and collar and tie, always said, ‘if it looks right it is right’. Never a truer word said. Lovely explanation of your method as always.

Would it have worked better bond if you traced from one end and worked to the other corner rather than coming in from both corners

Do you think that if you did 10 mm joints around the bay would let carry on as Flemish bond if not then or don’t that work

What if you dry bonded in Flemish from the centre and worked your way out? So instead of the broken bond in the middle you could work out a suitable cut as it meets the straight wall. I wasn't there obviously, but just a thought!

You can put 3 quarters at each end

that was a thought I had but I want the cuts to be the same where curve meets the main run, so the the blockbonding is symmetrical.

@@robsonger1 I was just having beer and watching, all the best Rob, hope you're staying dry, got my first full week in this week, hopefully more to come but I won't bank on it.

why do you have frog pond up on the left and frog pond down on the right bricks.????

The right hand side were cut because the concrete was slightly high at that point. Well observed
