This is (pun warning) really cool! I've been thinking of having a cool room built onto the back of a walk in pantry and was wondering how to set it up. The CoolBot looks like the answer. Thank you for sharing.

Does your a/c unit vent outside or just into the rest of your basement? I'm thinking of building one of these in the basement too, but not sure I want to have an A/C unit hanging out of the window

Any idea how much kWh that air conditioner uses? Could you run it continuously off a single solar panel or would you need more?

How do you take care of the moisture that drips from the other side of the air conditioner? That is an interior wall. I would like to know how you took care of the mosture.

I was wondering the exact same thing ! Doesn’t look like the back of the ac unit gets to the outside of the house ? I have a basement with “bulletproof” glass block windows so a window ac unit is out the question for me…help !! Lol

@@watchman4811 Hi Ray ! Ok, thanks. So an AC unit only needs to be in a widow for water dripping ? I thought it needed to pull air from the outside to then turn it cold. Is that not the case then ? Sorry, I’m clueless when it comes to this stuff, Lol

@@mjmartinez8373 air conditioners don't cool air from the outside. Air conditioners are actually 'heat extractors'. They take air from inside (through the dust filter you keep clean) and pass that air through a network of cold 'fins', much like the radiator on a vehicle, and blow the air back into the house. The heat gets transferred outside in the process that cools the fins back down. The moisture dripping outside is condensation happening on the cold parts that are in the hot/moist outside, just like the condensation on a cold beer can. They need to be in a window or wall because they need to have a place to put the heat they pulled out of the room. On a whole house unit that is the outside box in the yard that has the large fan inside it. Hope that helps!😀
