In this video I am presenting some basic principles on how one can attack the low openings of their opponent. I've chosen footage from my sparring sessions with different opponents and with the three main disciplines I study and teach - one handed sword, sword and buckler, and longsword.
You will be able to find some of the most common ways you can strike the legs, lower torso and lowered arms with some specifics provided for longsword and sword and buckler.
if you have any questions, comment below.

Fencer on the right manages to disarm his opponent and continues forwards. His opponent(red belt and socks) let's him pass and decides to jump on his back for the fun of it :)

Who makes the blunts you seem to be using around the 12:47ish mark?

Same case here pal. From what I've seen, the only places with opponent's for swordplay/fencing/or lightsaber fencing are in and near major cities, here in the US (which is where i am) and since i dont live anywhere near a major city. Finding a sparring partner for any of the the above listed activities is nigh impossible

@@ryananastasio7606 That is right although there are some other swordsmanship arts around here, there is basically no one who even does HEMA.

@@purpleteaisme If you have other options and you want to do HEMA in the future, do them. Whether it's kendo, modern fencing or something else, it will help develop very similar fundamentals to HEMA, just presented and applied in a different way.

I just wish I had someone to spar with. Whether it LARP/amtgard, hema, fencing, lightsaber fencing, kendo Literally anything similar to the previously listed activies. But the only people interested "cant afford it" or "dont have the time" or try it a few times, talk about how much fun it was and how they'd love to get into more and then never spar again. :( And all these inexperienced one and done, or at best 15 to 20 session opponents make it very difficult to actually practice applying the techniques I study, and practice solo. Cant really progress after a certain point if there's no scenario to learn how actually use/apply the techniques in a match. Instead I have to spend all my time with them teaching them the basics, and I can't use advanced techniques at all, because it always discourages my partners from continuing to even try due how apparent the skill/knowlede gaps are. Observation muscle memory alone only get you so far...
