The razor is designed to be used after tamping the coffee, at least that’s what the instruction book says for my Sage.

My wife and I followed your video even using the same grind size and grind time setting because we have the same grinder. We were both overwhelmed with how delicious of a latte this machine made us it’s a whole New World from drip coffee.

The manual sais "Use Razor dose trimming tool to precisely control the dose of ground coffee AFTER you tamp". I find the rest of the video very helpful. Thank you very much.

You are supposed to Tamp the coffee before you check the depth with the razor. The razor is basically just to make sure you don't overfill the basket there's enough space between the bed of coffee and the shower screen

Now that was a great review. I must say, you have me hooked! I like both those machines for their simplicity, apparent quality of the coffee they produce, and they look fabulous! Now to find them at the best price. Thank you.

Yes, as Riki below says, the razor is for use after tamping. I find it useful for removing the fine margin of coff that sometimes remains around the top of the portafilter wall after tamping. That aside, this is a great video..thanks for posting.

Forgot to purge out water before steaming milk.... my preference are also the lower settings for a lazy day. Manually though, it is quicker and the cream is a lot smoother. That steam wand is very powerful.

thank you for your video. Now, i understand that i bought a defective Bambino because only one cup button is lighting up, no any other buttons respond including a heater indicator. The cold water just pours through with no stopping.

I’m looking to get the Bambino plus today and will get a bottomless portafilter. Is the smart pro grinder good enough for a non pressurized basket on a bottomless portafilter? Or do I need to upgrade to something more expensive like the Sette 270?

Tamp and then use the razor. It is not a WDT tool, it’s intended to let you know if the coffee is too high or low.

I have the Sage bambino plus and grinder. I also have a Delonghi bean to cup machine and to be honest there’s not much difference in taste. The Delonghi produces consistent results whereas the Sage is more temperamental, noisier and messier. The Sage grinder has to be cleaned every few days, another minus. Just saying, you pays your money, the choice is yours.

Just wondering if you run into the problem with the water not flowing into the tray properly from the pressure relief after each shot, and even worse when running cleaning cycles?
@NoZenith
@NoZenith Жыл бұрын
I did, it seems like a little bit got under the tree every time and after pulling a couple three shots you pull the drip tray out to dump it and you have a puddle under the machine. I think the drip tray wasn't quite formed right and it wasn't fully seating back underneath the relief valve so I contacted bubble and the Rexall exchanging my machine. I only had it for a week but I was making sure I was holding the drip tray in and tried everything

This machine makes an amazing latte and espresso, 10/10 quality and taste I don’t even use a grinder, I use Starbucks espresso preground. Is it even worth it to buy a grinder?
@NoZenith
@NoZenith Жыл бұрын
TLDR: probably So, my grinder didn't come for a couple weeks after receiving my machine, and I obviously couldn't wait, so I went to the supermarket (after skipping starbucks) and purchased Lavazza canned pre-ground espresso (literally months fresher than what Starbucks had to offer). I absolutely Loved those lattes so much more than drip coffee, but then my grinder came and although now I have to fiddle with that, if you buy the right grinder, the process isn't much different BUT espresso shots are richer, thicker, more Crema, more flavor. It's like the difference between drip coffee and pre-ground espresso when you step up to grinding your own with fresh beans. Pre-ground coffee is a bit more course than what you're going to be able to use with your own grinder and an unpressurized basket, so the espresso is quite literally thinner (age and oxidation affects this as well). BIGGER ISSUE and some clarification= You're never going to find fresh, pre-ground espresso, especially at Starbucks, because so few people buy it. Those are definitely the people with pod machines at home. I initially went there looking and all of their stuff was within a month or so of expiration and I looked into that to see what expiration meant on coffee beans for freshness and in the United States most companies put a one-year expiration... So this is pre-ground coffee, that's nearly a year old, that you're paying exorbitant amounts of money for... To summarize, It's up to you and how involved you want to be in making your coffee. I spent three years saving money and deep-diving because I wanted to be able to be very involved on the weekends but be able to turn the machine on and not really have to focus on it during the week when I have to head to work. Speed was also important to me. The Breville Bambino ticked all the boxes and I would only wish it had the three different temperature settings like many other Breville machines just for that versatility if you decide to try a lighter roast coffee. If it had that, there really wouldn't be any other option worth considering for me on the market. I picked the Niche Zero grinder for its Simplicity, consistency, ease-of-use, low retention, lowest likelihood of making a mess on the daily and ease of cleaning (the tear down and cleaning is ridiculously easy and the fact it has such low retention means you don't have to clean it very often). It was also one of the most quiet Grinders on the market and I definitely skipped the set a series when I heard what in person. It was grating on my nerves and I couldn't stand the thought of turning that on regularly! I wanted better coffee, not more burdensome coffee. I hope this helps

Hi Abraham! I'm glad you found the video helpful, I appreciate the feedback! The Bambino Plus was designed for predominently domestic use, making a handfull of coffees a day. I wouldn't recomend using it in a coffee shop, even a small one, as I don't know how well it will hold up making that many coffees every day. Hope that helps! Feel free to send us an email at sales@numerouno.com.au if you have any more questions! Sam

You kept changing out what you were doing when you were showing us the way, for example when you were frothing when you were doing the jump cuts you went from showing us you used the minimum froth setting to when you took it out it was on the max, you may want to be more consistent if you are trying to explain to people how that particular machine works, because someone else might think they did something wrong, You did the same when brewing your espresso, you said " take your two cups..." then showed us a closeup of a single cop being brewed. I mean if you are just want to show the operations of the machine fine, but you were also trying to give tips, which would not be accurate based on your outcome of your several jump cuts using different footage.

Oh fun, coffee snobbery rears it's ugly head again. Some people are beginners which this machine is great for. Some people also don't have 4 figures to spend on a machine, nor the desire to overly complicate the process of making a latte. Go gatekeep on a Hoffman video.
