Do you connect it LAN to LAN or LAN (modem) to WAN (router)?

Once I AP mode you can't just connect via Physical LAN ports

Can i still have internet acces even if my base router is turned off? But connected by a lan cable from my base to wan of my tp link

@@chini2W0 No. Base needs to be On. I haven't tried it, try n see, but it seems logical that the AP Router will not recieve if the base R is Off.

An access point cannot obtain internet from a base router purely wirelessly. Therefore after setting up the TPLINK HP 841 as your access point, you need to connect it to the base router with an ETHERNET cable from LAN port of BASE router to WAN port of TPLINK HP 841 (ACCESS POINT ROUTER)! WIRELESSLY if you want to get internet from base to new router you have to set up the new router as a REPEATER/RANGE EXTENDER.

Having qos configured on the main router, if i just add an extended router bridging to the main, will extended router access the limited internet that main configured???

@@NETVN82 I have read somewhere, on acccess point device I should plug the lan cable to the yellow port, so I can use the remaining 3 yellow ports for LAN internet. But because this device has access point mode encrypted, I can plug the lan cable to the WAN port but the device will render it as a normal LAN port, so I can use 4 yellow ports as LAN internet. Did you connect it to your main modem via LAN cable? If you don't you will never get the internet. If you want to connect them wirelessly, you need to change to router mode.

Access point extends your main internet speed to other places without losing any bandwidth. But it's a must to have it connected via ethernet cable to your modem. Router mode does the same but in this case, via wifi signal, but bandwidth is lost in the way. Access point mode: _____________ _______________ I Modem I __________ ETHERNET CABLE ___________ | Access point | (If you use another ethernet cable from her to your devices, you will have exact same internet speed) I____________I |______________| (If you connect from this access point via wifi, bandwidth will be reduced) Router mode is like this _____________ _______________ I Modem I __________ WIFI SIGNAL ___________ | Router mode | (Main bandwidth will always be less than the original speed from your modem) I____________I |______________| My recommendation is to always use it as an access point and try to use an ethernet cable from access point to your device, if not possible, there's not much problem.
