Hello again to everyone and welcome to all the new subscribers to the channel!
Well, this feels like quite a momentous moment for the layout. Having faffed about with isolating sections for far too long, I decided to bite the bullet and switch the layout over to DCC. This had always been the intention, and the trackwork was laid with that in mind. And I thought what better loco to test this out on, than the new Accurascale Class 92. And I wasn't disappointed.
I know this is setting the bar very high, but it really is a tremendous model and it runs smoothly, without fail, across all of my layout - even the slightly less 'polished' areas in the fiddle yard! The sound functions and extending pantographs are mind blowing, and I've had great fun running this round the layout over the last couple of days. I now intend to convert all of my other stock to DCC - and have ordered some sockets for the non-DCC ready stuff, of which the Electrostar will be the first to come over.
Anyway, here are some running shots of the '92, in the EWS channel tunnel livery, hauling a heavy intermodal load through the station with ease.
