Katie 'im no expert stress is useful but T or t trauma is problematic. resilience is the capacity to buffer stress/trauma and is built with repetitive predictable nurturing care/responses from others. this creates a template which the child carries. in treatment i create a plasticine template and explain what biopsychosocial factors may have influence this, they then appreciate that they can reshape the template as its not set in stone. Bruce or anyone please correct

I love this series. I would like more information about the "resilient" pattern on the last slide. I understand the "vulnerable" and the "normal", but don't understand how the "resilient" fits in. Would this be a child who experienced potentially traumatic events but who had caregivers that kept their state of arousal low? I know I'm missing something, but can't figure out what!

I, too, was wondering about the resilient line on the graph for the last slide. Would these be children who have built up a tolerance for abuse/trauma due to continuous exposure-the ones who seem to be non-reactive,unfeeling, oblivious?

Interesting. So is sensitization also reversible through a drug holiday like desensitization?
