being dubbed as "performance powerhouse" and being known as "self-producing idols" really leaves fans and the general public curious about this group's creative production so in behalf of CARATs, we're very grateful to the Grammy Museum for offering the boys a platform where they can discuss in the most raw ways about their music and production. ♡

This should be titled ‘Seventeen praising woozi for his extraordinary producing skills for 24 minutes and 13 seconds’ I really love this interview , the question were very good and I love how he focused on their beginning so much and it made them so happy to talk about how it all started , I’m telling you if seventeen could have their own LABEL they could!!! , they have everything and do everything for themselves! From producing the music and creating the choreography even the music video !! I’m glad I’m a Carat !! ❤️

The whole interview depicted their humble beginnings until to their current self. I always love this kind of interview in which they will not only focus on promoting the entire new album but also goes on deeper points of view regarding how the produce their songs. Coz we all know seventeen is a self producing group but its rare that they were asking about the behind of all the makings of their tracks, how they think about making one, how and when they were inspired and motivated, how much revisions they did to produce a whole great album.. Thank You so much for gifting us this great interview about our dear Seventeen.. We always love how you go in more elaborated and depth interview everytime.. Stay safe and praying that you will meet each other in the near future..😍😍😍

What a genuinely touching interview. The questions were all spot on and we could feel their sincerity in exploring the world of music; producing their own songs, taking part in creating the cheorography and above all, delivering such deep message about universal language of love in this album. SEVENTEEN is obviously what we all want to see growing up to be a worldwide-known K-Pop artist. Way to go, guys!

Thank you Mark Conklin and Prudential Center for inviting SEVENTEEN to this interview. It has been a fan topic for a long time, what is the behind the scenes to their music. I'm glad they were able to share more about their process, more than what we've seen or heard from the members. It was interesting seeing their growth, with questions from Adore U era, to Left & Right, and now to Ready to Love and the rest of the Your Choice album. Thank you again and I hope to see the members at the Prudential Center too because that is where I first really met them and fell in love with their whole energy and music!

im so fascinated to hear the musical and production aspects of their songs. the way they talk confidently about the process and the in-depth details on how they came up from the idea, to the lyrics, to the revisions and everything, show how they really put their time and effort to their craft. it still amazes me that 13 boys have perfect harmony that the various ideas they get individually can be solidified as one because they're that comfortable and competent to produce anything. and how they take pride of the group's main producer, WOOZI, who they never fail to praise and uplift his efforts in every cb. They're the biggest supporters of each other, and thats like few of the million reasons why i love and support this group, my home, SEVENTEEN.

The best Kpop Self-Producing Idols : *SEVENTEEN*
@coupskyeom
@coupskyeom 3 жыл бұрын
It took so long for me to write this but I hope u take ur time to read haha! I know many of us have divided opinions about the 'Ready to Love' production. From new arrangements to a new MV director and enlisting the help of other producers (which isn't really new, but because it's BangPD, some are skeptical). Here's my take, and I will try to be as unbiased as possible: If you've been a fan of Seventeen for so long, you know that Seventeen have a set of distinctive identity that set them apart from other boy groups. *Their knife-cut choreography is unrivalled, their unique sound, and, most importantly, their 'self-producing' title, which has never been given to any other kpop group both in the past and present.* These are what make them stand out. However, SVT is a growing, maturing group that constantly haven proven to improve themselves as artists. Hence, they get receive from other producers with the goal of improving their work, not to change them completely. As Woozi continues to be the primary producer of the majority of their songs and title tracks, they have been able to maintain their title on their own over the years. The 'self-producing idols' has become more of their *pride* than a title alone. It's not the first time SVT has tried something new. Remember how they started with a fresh, youth concept with 'Adore U' to 'Boom Boom,' and then the slow, EDM track 'Don't Wanna Cry' came to life? The transition from "Clap" to "Thanks" is also noticeable. Then there's 'Oh My!' and 'Home.' *SEVENTEEN's genre is SEVENTEEN.* *What allows SVT to do all of this is that they have the freedom to create their own work and focus on their own stories to tell, which is what their fans have loved them for.* I completely understand the fans who believe that getting help from BangPD is something to be thankful for rather than disappointed about. But you have to also know that before anything else, he is also a businessman. This changes the whole story. They've never received help from other producers before that completely changed the direction of their sound, especially for a title track. 'Ready to Love' is such a good song. But to be honest there are other songs in the album that could've been a better title track. RTL is what you'd expect a SVT b-track to sound like. It's like the 'Good To Me' from YMMDawn and 'Without You' from Teen, Age. (side note: to be fair though, SVT's b-sides can all pass as title tracks let's be real) *All that fans hope for is that Hybe never takes away everything that defines Seventeen as Seventeen.* They've taken so much from us already. From the poor quality of merch to not being given enough chance to promote in S. Korea. *Seventeen is currently the second most popular boy group in both Korea and Japan. They are also Hybe's second most profitable group. So Hybe, please don't screw shits up.*

Seventeen is literally the "started from the bottom, now we're here" meme! I really just love to see how passionate they are in producing their own craft and how proud they are working as a team. They've grown so much over the past 6 years! From 13 teenage boys struggling to find their direction in life, to now 13 young adults striving to find purpose and look for ways to spread love and inspiration through their music and performances to the world. I'm a proud CARAT! Being in the same age group as them, I resonate so much with them and I am so happy to have found them in my life. We're growing together and I find comfort from them even if we're oceans away. Thank you so much Recording Academy for this interview! This is so far my favorite!!!!

I think Ready to Love and Your choice is the sign that you have grown up. You've matured when you feel the confidence to profess your love and also respect the person's choice, whether its rejecting or accepting. Because loving someone means to respect them. When you're young, you don't often think about how the other person feels about you. You just want them to accept you and like you back selfishly because YOU like them. Not that you hope they actually like you back and have genuine feelings that are deep to them. To mature is to understand that they might not feel the same way as you, but still tell them anyways because you are confident to be ready to love. And if you get rejected, you don't blame them or demonize them. Because to truly love is to respect them and love them without seeking an ulterior motive. When you're a kid, you haven't learned that lesson yet and you are in the process to learn about love being the ultimate act of selflessness. When you're a kid, you just want to love and gain love back because it feels good. You don't care about how that person actually feels, you just want love back because you gave it first. When you gain the knowledge that love is a selfless thing and actually use it, you understand what it's like to truly love someone.

there's a lot of times when we think on how good and professional woozi was when making music. not only carats but seventeen members too, woozi at the some point must've had the sort of burdensome of figuring out what types or what would suit seventeen the most. he mentioned this before on how this music making process feel much as his daily life, people might be pouring the compliments here and there and saying he's a genius but still he thinks this as a talent that he can do for the group. he believes each of the members bringing different color and do what they skilled the most. woozi has been so down to earth about being a producer, not to say that was a good gratitude of him on doing so but i hope woozi realizes he did much justice for the group and show the audience the title of self-producing group.

I love how there is a spark in their eyes when they are talking about the production of the whole album and the individual songs.....the making of the tracks, lyrics inspirations and the dance, is just amazing tbh...I really hope more fans (carats) could acknowledge how much effort they put into each and every albums they've made..

It's really a memory line when they talked about 2 months performance of Adore You. I still remember my excitement for their next performance because they always did it different each day! I'm really thankful for this interview because we can see the progress, the reason, and the way they beyond creative since before debut. "The label seeing our creativity and changes their purpose when they see it." "It's better performing our own music rather than just present by getting from others." I'm always be proud of carat and wish they will present their own produce as long as their career.

Great interview. I really love Seventeen for being self-producing group. I believe that they can convey every message wonderfully with their lyrics. And their mutual love for each other is great and how they praise Woozi all the time is simply wonderful. 💕💕💕💕

Thank you for the meaningful interview! Been a carat for 5 yrs, it still amazes me every time when they’re talking about their own music production. Their passion and perseverance make them who they are now. I hope they can continue to do whatever they want to do, will always support them ♡

I could listen to them tell those stories and real behind the songs for hours. Its one of the most interestings interviews I have heard and not only because of the questions but the way they are talking about this proces and their memories just shows they are incredibly talented. I can't wait to see where they will be in the next few years. And I know they will become legendary

I would like to say thank you for this amazing interview about how our boys Seventeen really confident and appreciate every steps and progress they have made in making their own musics. It just proves how much their involvement in every musics they’ve made and try to convey each every single messages beautifully. Woozi once said, that he is NOT a genius producer /composer, but he is a foolish producer. Because a foolish will always work harder than others, try and try and try again with all his best to make something wonderful. This is why I believe that Seventeen musics will always grows and evolve in every single comeback. Way to go guys!

They way seventeen confidently explained their music involvement in any track of the albums just shows how amazingly genuine they are in creating music.The whole interview really did a tremendous job in touching seventeen’s way of creating music from the very start to their current album ,your choice.Without a doubt that seventeen music’s style has nver been about sticking to only one style and it always has been about them being versatile and i am in awe,heck just listen to their albums and u will definitely get my point.overall this raw interview did great by highlighting seventeen’s music and talent and i’m really excited for their future releases in the future coming from these powerhouse performers.

i love this interview so much! even though Seventeen is a self-producing group, i've noticed that they rarely get asked questions about their process, especially woozi, when it comes to producing their albums, so it's always so great when an interview like this, solely focused on how they produce as a team, is always so refreshing to see. Thanks, Mark Conklin!
