Have deeply related to Melanie's work the whole time, stumbled upon this interview today and started crying when she said she found inspiration in Mark Ryden's work... I had HUNDREDS of his pieces printed out as clip art to paste in my room as a late teenager up until my early 20s. Always cool to see how small the world really is.

About 14 years ago, I mentioned to my son-in-law's father that my family was going to see the Trans Siberian Orchestra, and that he should go. Well, he and a buddy went to the evening show...he was expecting an orchestra, not a rock band! He had never heard of TSO before. Not been to a show since. His loss. ;)

The history behind the magic and wonderment of TSO makes being a part of the show as a fan even more exciting. Every song has a purpose for its existence but the beauty of music is being able to see how that audience member reacts to the song that you wrote must be a lyrist’s high. Thank you for sharing with all of us your passion for those that are (whether they are here on Earth physically or spiritually) a part of the TSO family. Awesome interview!

I like the lyrics of train wreck . They are very deep and you almost seem to be sinking in the depths of anxiety and despair in the song- asking Gods help in the deepest way. Thankyou for letting us into some of your darkest, deepest thoughts with your amazing music James. - Liz 😎

The first song I know of Ashley’s is “Martha Devine”. She says in this interview about he song “Never Will” that she won’t play the game and sing songs that aren’t her. That is so refreshing. Ashley’s music reminds me of others I enjoyed when I was younger such as Mary Chapin Carpenter and Gretchen Wilson.
