As a vet who dealt with his PTSD through self medication (alcohol) I can relate to this song very well. Through Christ and love of an amazing family I am 10 years sober and haven't had any PTSD flashes in over a year. I have started a page on Facebook called helping hands of hope to help people break addiction. Please if you need help reach out. God bless

I am also a vet who has struggled. At one point I while being drunk attempted to crash my truck into a tree at a high rate of speed. I jerked the wheel but my truck didn't turn. I later found out my future wife was praying for me at that time. I have been sober for over 20 years now and am working with fellow veterans through sports.

I am planning to go into the Marines however I'm inflicted by potentially getting PTSD.

@@dalynburris4095 the truth is that you may get placed in situations that can vause PTSD. That is just something that comes with serving. I do not regret my time in the Army. What I regret is not trusting God to guide me through the chaos. I was brought up an atheist with the southern male pride, so I thought I could handle everything and anything on my own. But I was wrong. If you are looking to join the Marines that is great. The Corp does better with training their young men and women, in my opinion. But make sure you are strong in your faith and walk with God. Do not be afraid to talk about what is going on (Chaplains will always be willing to help). But never forget two things: 1) 2 Timothy 1:7 2) Jesus will never leave you nor forsake you. If you need someone to talk to look me up on Facebook. God bless you and I will be praying for you.

Joesph, I was not handling this good cause of my PTSD, Even tho it is still in the background I am moving further every day. I miss you I am honored to be part of a team some years ago.

The verse "Man down, We got a man down, Crying for help but I can't make a sound, trapped inside my own mind, losing control of all my emotions, is there a cure for the wounds that I've opened, I'm bleeding out, we got a man down." It's such a powerful verse to me, I don't have PTSD but I remember alot of bad things that have happened like my dad left me when I was 3 and came back when I was 5 and left again and I remember when I was about 10 to 12 I was cutting myself and it was depressing so when the song said that it was just so powerful and gave me hope. PTSD is no joke, and I’ve seen what it’s done to people. It can destroy you from the inside if you aren’t careful! Thank goodness we have a savior who can heal us and save us and is greater than any problem or affliction we have to endure in this life! I’ve heard of you guys for awhile but never got a chance to listen to your music. My hat is off to you guys! I’ve been praying that God would introduce me to more Christian rock and metal bands! Keep the music alive and the faith going strong! God bless you guys!

Excellent song! Got a little misty eyed near the end. I've watched both my Marine brothers suffer from PTSD and more than likely will always have to see it. PTSD is no joke. These brave men and woman do so much for us to keep us free, but once they return home, it's our job to take care of them. God bless and take care of all our troops!

Um...WOW! I suffer with PTSD from Desert Shield/Storm. My family has seen me at my worst. Thankfully, through Christ and therapy, things are better these days. Not as good as they could be, but I have hope. My son just pointed me to this song. This is written by someone who truly understands the struggles of PTSD.

We are all soldiers in this world, our enemy is the Devil and his minions, he's tactic is using our troops against us like puppets, our PTSD is anything that can snap us, it scared us, deep in desperation we are, but we need a spark of hope, and that is Jesus leading the charge, and one thing we all need to know, is that soldiers, we need to keep moving, and moving on we shall in Jesus's steps.

I love SDS but not a fan of this video. Yes, I am a veteran with PTSD but when you focus on the problem it only gets larger. This video spends a lot of time in darkness with "the man down." I get it, but I need light and hope to rise up from the darkness. My past is a place of reference, not a place of residence. There is victory over PTSD. Don't live in the problem. Hope rises from the ashes of desperation.

Mark Wilson This video was made to bring awareness to an issue that not many people seem to focus on. Approximately 20 Veterans per day are committing suicide and we need people to see the reality of this struggle. Love you man! Thank you for serving this great nation!

Yeah, see, this is why I can't share this video. I get it but it scares me for someone who has climbed out of that pit. Don't want to pull them back into it. Love you guys and it may give those who don't understand what our military or maybe even some police go through a better understanding. But for those that have been there, pretty sure they don't want to go back.
