@McSquiddington2 жыл бұрын
I've noticed that the smaller your position or your salary, the less your bosses actually care how much you identify with your employer. The moment you have a *shred* of authority, however, you're pushed and prodded in order to embody that sense of authority and any other charges to come for the rest of your life. Even if you leave their employment, your higher-ups are afraid you could put the company on blast on social media once you're freed up, so they take almost absurd pains to make sure you associate as much positivity with your workplace as possible. As for the movie, I could see this being a dystopian whiplash against anti-work movements. If you could entirely disassociate from your work life, then your bosses would have no reason to book sick days or show even a shred of empathy. They could work you halfway to death, knowing you'd never remember enough to lodge a complaint.

The great thing about Black Mirror(another dystopian show, but each episode is an individual film) is that each ep has a tight plot that sits within a created dystopian world. The problem with some dystopian series is that the show is about the premise and the plot is thin and you never get the real pay off as a viewer, you constantly want to know what is actually going on. I fear for this show, I hope the plot is tight and it's not just cliffhanger after season 1. This show reminds me of Lost a lot with the atmosphere, I hope it doesn't end up going of in mad directions never having satisfying conclusions.

Oooo man! The Belko Experiment! I bought that on a whim a few years ago at a video rental place's going-out-of-business sale. I was traumatized. I used to work in an office just like that place and that movie really made me think.

Blown away. Mind boggling. Starts slow and just builds and builds and builds until the Season finale... which will leave you on the edge of your seat. Yeah it's BIZARRE but man is it good.

This looks really good. I watch the first two episodes though and I really wish I didn’t have this looming feeling that they have no idea where the story is going. They’ll do the usual American thing of running season 1, 2, 3 etc until people get bored and then cancel it. You can already see it giving off lost vibes. It’s fun being ambiguous and building tension but giving mind blowing answers and concluding stories in a way that makes them stick with you is the most important part of a story. We all remember that feeling of walking out of a cinema after a really good film and feeling that the ending shocked or saddened you but that you couldn’t stop thinking about the way they had wrapped it all up. It’s not the build up or the middle you remember. I miss when stories had endings.

I wish it were a limited series, but it does feel like they'll probably go the path of LOST.

Is it not incredibly obvious where the story is going to go? I really like this show but it is pretty clear that the story is going to be about the outie trying to get the innie out. Maybe it'll just be a one off series. Tbh, I prefer those for these style of shows because they fair more like long form movies than they do series.

@@peanutbuttermochi9499 well yeah that part is obvious (although you can’t break him out without sacrificing yourself). I wonder if we’ll ever find out what they are doing or what the scary numbers represent. Will we find out about upper management and their motives. Or will it just go off on tangents without ever answering any of the questions. That’s what I’m wondering. I’ll keep watching it though because it’s interesting.

also very american to cancel after one season, leaving many unanswered questions.

If you're reading this. This show is good. I'm a very tough critic. It's slow and it literally takes 4-5 episodes to hook you. I thought it was going to be a cheesy comedy but it's not. It's a very dark psychological mystery thriller and it's definitely worth the watch. Very very dark...
