Rudy you, like April, Amy & Jun simply amaze me. Because of a Shih Tzu named Chewy I was learning on, these severely matted dogs because my favorite, and saddest part of grooming. Tears tears tears in my heart. It took April hours showing me baby steps in getting that fur/hair off of Chewy. She made me help all the way, but was right there making sure I did it correctly. Love, respect does not come close to how much I appreciate her, and Chewy. Thank you, Amy and Loki for sharing this video with me and others

And puppy! Loki, I apologize for not mentioning this first!! I actually got tears eyes because in July 2020, my beloved Border collie / shar pei mix passed over at age 15.5. She was one big lovable hunk of thick thick thick black hair. Groomed regularly her entire life until her last year, it was too painful for her. She endured Lyme for most of her life as well as born with double hip dysplasia. Left hip surgery at age 6 months, never needed the other one done, thank goodness. But I did my best to help out her matted bits but it wasn’t good enough, I feel terrible about it still. She left a hole a mile wide in my life and I still cry. Animals are so much better than humans, if only we could achieve half the love they give...willingly and freely, we might just be worthy of their company. Had to share, I know this community understands my feelings. ❤️

Wonderful grooming job on a dog that has a fantastic temperament. When I see something like this I wonder if the owners ever put their hands on the dog. When a dog is matted like this if it goes out in the rain and it’s cold gets damp, the fur it’s not just matted it becomes felted. i’m glad you showed how the mats pull on the skin. One can only imagine how uncomfortable and painful that can be for the dog.

Thank you so much for your kind comment Linda..Yes Lokis family made 3 months of advanced appointments,so we plan on doing a lot more videos of him..They were misinformed on how to maintain him,and were making the mistake of bathing him without prior brushing, but it is obvious how much they love him,he knows nothing but love..Thank you again, and best of luck with your baby as well.

I think he is using a number 10. The #10's teeth are smaller and closer together so the skin won't get pulled between the teeth on a dog that's matted.
