When it comes to Floyd, everyone expects blues and psychedelia. What most new listeners do NOT expect, is the infusion of soul and funk into theirs songs. It hits like a truck.

Don’t make the mistake others have made: for the most part, Pink Floyd creates concept albums that are made to be listened to from start of finish in one sitting. Sit down and listen to Dark Side of the Moon as one work.

Gilmour's playing the lap steel guitar in part 6. You can see him playing it in One of These Days and High Hopes, both from Pulse. David Gilmour is incomparable.

You are going to love Echoes from Live at Pompeii by them, my man. It was filmed when they are at their peak of their creative power. Echoes is considered by many fans to be their first true masterpiece, just before the recording of Darkside of the Moon, an album whose legendary status barely does it justice.

You know what's better than a Pink Floyd song? Witnessing someone discovering Pink Floyd for the first time. 😉 I recommand to come back to shine on you crazy for a second time, and paying attention to the lyrics...There is a deep meaning to this song. It will blow your mind again, but in a different way.

Their album ANIMALS is a SONIC MASTERPIECE. It's only 5 five song. You could do the entire album. ✌🤞🙏

Just imagine if you will that this was the music of your teen years. How would all the music on the radio that followed compare? How would it effect your perception of all the music that followed? And your outlook on life? That is the conundrum that us old geezers find ourselves in. The mastery of harmonics, clear clean crisp playing of instruments, lyrics that say it all and nothing more or superfluous. The music industry is left wanting since. Alas for the lost pleasures of youth.

Shine on you Crazy Diamond bookends this album beautifully. Richard Wright's keyboard playing on this entire album is masterful, you easily lose yourself in the journey this album takes you on, it's one of their best. It's layered and mixed beautifully. If you ever listen to their album Dark Side of the Moon, you have to listen to it in one hit, start to end as each songs flows into the next and it's truly an experience to be had for a new Pink Floyd fan, I envy anyone being able to do that for the first time.

Richard Wright owns this album. His keyboards are all over it. And his outro for Shine On pt 6 is gorgeous

That's not saxophone in "Part IX", it's synthesizer along with piano chords, both played masterfully by Richard Wright.

Man I envy anybody listening to these songs for the first time. Still remember the first time I heard The Dark Side Of The Moon like it was yesterday.
