A toothpick is an awesome idea! Better than a metal stiletto for sure (and cheaper). One question (forgive. I'm new). It looks like you're sewing the tulip fabric onto the background with the circle opening to the right. It's difficult to see, but that makes the most sense if the right sides are together. Am I seeing this correctly?

Is your seam allowance 1/2 inch?
@bungalowquiltingandyarn23212 жыл бұрын
No, it's 1/4 inch.

Nice tute! I disliked the glue and clip methods and like just sewing inset circles as you did here. For smaller circles with tighter arcs I just pinned a lot with very fine pins (you can sew over them).

Thanks! I agree clipping weakens seam allowances and gluing....no.

Excellent technique and a great tutorial. However, you completely blew by one of the most important points: how to align and place your fabric BEFORE sewing it. With the close up view and camera angle used, it is very difficult to see how you arranged it. Please provide a written explanation if you can. thanks.
