So sorry to hear about your marriage ending. It brought tears to my eyes. My 33 year marriage ended 6 years ago. You are blessed to have a sister that can be there for you. The best revenge is him seeing you living a good, happy life. After the initial year post divorce, I have never been happier. The constant daily stress is gone, and I got healthier because of that. Go for a walk with your sister or go swim laps. The exercise is good for you mentally, physically, and relieves stree.

I don’t want revenge. Glad to hear you had a happy outcome. Both my sister and I have chronic illness so exercise is not appropriate. That said I do get outside when I can.

Darling Claire, I am so sorry to hear. I wish I could give you a big hug. Praise God that you have your sister. Try and get your sewing items as sewing is good for our mental health. Wool - do not wash but steam fabric to deal with shrinkage. Thereafter, garment should only be dry cleaned.

You can get through this, Claire! Yes, it will be very hard emotionally at first, but just take things one day at a time, doing things to take care of yourself, and one day you will be happy again. You're going to experience a range of emotions, which is completely normal, so be prepared for that. I'm so glad you have a wonderful sister to help you now. I am so sorry you are going through such a difficult time, Claire. I discovered your videos recently, and I enjoy your honesty and expertise. You have given me hope that I can sew garments reasonably well, and as soon as I finish organizing my sewing room, I plan to begin sewing again. I am glad that you can stay at your sister's while you get your life back in order. I, too, have a sister who put me up when I was going through a difficult time some years ago. I’m so very sorry to hear you are going through such a hard time. It’s even harder to go through emotional issues when you have chronic health conditions to deal with too. I have multiple autoimmune diseases so I know how they like to flare up at the worst times. However, I am sure you will get through this and come out the other side with determination and the spirit you display whenever you make your videos. Remember you are awesome and a fighter.

I have been watching you for a little bit now and I am thinking that a beautiful woman that you present yourself to be will be just fine given time. My 5 yr grandaughter greets me in the morning with "morning granny. Can we sew today?". She has her own box of no Frey fabrics, small equipment box. Last week she sewed her first machine seam ...making a curtain for a cubby...she is my thread clipper and it's lovely to teach her every thing...I explain everything, let her cut the scraps ..we spend time making doll clothes, and pillows and even mini quilts...then we go play banjo and sing lots of old english kid songs....(they are the best).... i am watching from deep bush in Australia, yes I have snakes and big spiders (they hide in my stash)...bit scary....adds another thrill.... I was sorry to hear your news. I recall when my first marriage ended I left with my sewing machine under one arm and my purse under the other. Life tests us every step of the way, but have faith. Everything will work out. I love your videos and will keep watching. As someone who has fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis, and 4 artificial joints so far - I understand a bit of what you are living with. I turn 70 in 15 days, so add old age to the mix. If I can't do it while seated it just doesn't get done.

Claire I am so sorry for your situation, I have only been watching you for a little while but have found your videos so clear and sensible. It demonstrated your strength for finding the courage to come on and do this one. The stitching community are all such a lovely bunch I am sure I can speak for us all to say we are with you for whenever you decide to post. Having been where you are I have no fix it words other than a day at a time and look after yourself. Sisters are amazing and I am sure being with someone who loves you unconditionally will give you heart that you can go on. Without your videos I would not have had the courage to dust off my new (now old) sewing machine and gather some essentials to start a garment after I leave work for the final time this week. Sending you lots of love at this difficult time you are amazing and have taught me so much already and I have not yet put a stitch in.

Hi Claire, I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I’ve been through it a couple of times; if you don’t mind I have a little advice. Rely on God, and trust your gut. The other bit is to try to be mindful of your physical health: sleep, eating and water. I wish you a speedy recovery in finding joy and your new normal. Please know that you are loved!
