I bought that little magnet for seams, it's great! My grand daughter got on fabulously with it to sew her quilted machine mat! Great tip to hold threads at start of fabric👏😊

I think I heard you recommend the square patch before. So I use one most of the time now. Not just a thread catcher but it saves an enormous amount of thread in the long run too. I get far less thread waste now. So thanks for that very hot tip. 😉
