But why? It’s a straight seam. Just put right sides together and sew. Is it supposed to save time by not having to do a separate too stitch?

It's to make sure they stay perfectly aligned and straight. This would be great for people with vision problems or muscle fatigue or conditions such as parkinsons, to keep stitches in a straight and clean line.

I always wanted to learn how to sew/knit/crotchet but just never took the time to learn. So i may sound dumb- but I don't get the trick of this? Is it bc it holds down one side of the fabric?

And when you're working with nylon to make them not slide and to work better put parchment in between them (for a tent ⛺ I believe that's nylon that you work with)

It looks like the tension is unequal, the fabric underneath running through the comb is tighter and smoother, the top fabric is a little bit looser and puckered

Как заметил один комментатор, правый кусок испытывает натяжение, поэтому будут пузыри. Я бы лучше провела линию, за которую не сдвигать левый кусок. 😊
