I love the Clamshell Quilt but want to make it quick and easy. So let's make it and quilt it all at the same time. I used 2 packs of 5" precuts plus some bk and white

I like this method! I made a clamshell quilt once, and the curved piecing really gave me a headache, and I swore never again. This looks so much easier, and I love applique.

What are the measurements of the backing and batting. I know it depends on # of clamshells, however how do you calculate.

Laura, I love your style. You are so beautiful. I wish I had your beauty and style. Please do more videos. I'm a trucker but 4 years ago i was a dog groomer, grandma and a content quilter. My now ex-husband forced me into trucking. Boy was he surprised when I showed up with a moving truck. I watch other people quilt while I'm the bunk to satisfy my quilting jones. Love from the road.

Good evening Laura Ann, this is definitely a quilt for a more sophisticated room, but it could be a man's quilt no problem i think, but i'm only on my 2nd quilt so what would i know. I do think though that matching pillow shams would be lovely, tie backs in the clam design , with the backing material as curtains (i'm a nightmare for like thinks matching in) this would just finish off an elegant room. Thank you flower for another lovely quilt trip into sharing the ease in which we can do patterns that we wouldn't normally want to try. Crafty hugs from Norah, Glenochil, Scotland

I've never done any quilting before, but always liked the idea of picking it up as a hobby (something to replace my timesink that is playing video games). I've lost a bunch of weight in the last couple years, and I've got a bunch of old, over-sized t-shirts that I figure I could put to use. This pattern seems really appropriate for smaller pieces of scrap fabric. I look forward to givin' it a try in the near future.

@@viktoriya6275 Мне кажется, что это не бумага. При выворачивании она бы порвалась. Как вариант, можно пришить самый дешёвый флизелин или ненужную ткань. Например, от старой простыни.

Great idea! I have been using the stabilizer method on my applique quilts for a while now and it works well. I sew all the way around then cut a small x in the back of the stabilizer and turn the piece right side out through that opening. Can't wait to try this with a couple of charm packs I purchased during my summer travels. Thank you.

I am making this clamshell quilt in blue fabrics it will be the center section of a larger quilt I did all the placing and ironing in place on the batting yesterday. I love it so far. Thanks so much for the easy and complete instructions. You are always so thorough!
