Paul Cook & Steve Jones interviewed by Australia's Ian "Molly" Meldrum for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation's pop show Countdown, November 1977. Malcolm McLaren can be seen lurking in the background. Paul & Steve were given Foster's Lager to drink whilst being interviewed.

I like how Steve looks at Paul with amusement and respect. Totally different atmosphere when the other two aren't around. It's nice too see. Its still the same way when Paul goes on Steve's radio show too, the two of them together is always really funny

It is a good book...Funny when he goes on about his invisible cloak and his peeping tom shennanigans... " remember then holes you used to see in womans bogs? ..that was me, well, not all of them"😄 its the frankest, most honest autobiography you'll ever read. .

Paul is the only one who hasn't written a book (unless you count Sid). I have all 4 books (Glen's, Lydon's 2, and now Jonesy's), and they all provide different insights giving a much more well-rounded account as a whole. Yes, it's Paul's turn.

not true though. It was Matlock and Rotten really. It was Matlock that got that sound with lots of overdubbing of the same lines. Cook is not a bad drummer and had his moment but I don't think they are the backbone. They were great mates, like something out of Fagin's gang....

The Sex Pistols lasted a short time, but their legacy was a huge influence to the evolution of music as it was during the late 1970s, will forever be remembered.

Lydon is not present at the interview because just before this he had flicked a lit cigarette at the Camera Man in a pub when the band were approached and Molly jumped across the table and punched Lydon in the face ... true story.

Agree, it's one of their more catchy tunes, but when he started the Pisols, apparently he wasn't comfortable being lead singer, so after several name changes & with the help of Viv & Malcolm on the lookout, they eventually came upon Johnny.

John and Sid got most of the attention because of their ridiculous stage names. Steve and Paul have such ordinary sounding names they got overlooked quite a lot, which is a shame because they were both talented and funny in their own right.

Paul never seemed to have the same ego problems like Steve and Johnny. And never seemed out of his mind on drugs or alcohol either. Would love for him to write his memoirs, I think he saw things more clear and "as" they were.

Roter Fuchs seems as tho they all wore each other’s clothes. the “i hate pink floyd” shirt rotten was wearing when they auditioned him there’s also pictures of cookie and jones wearing it, and also sids ripped up tanktop with the cowboy with his cock out, jones also wore that occasionally. and the “Destroy” shirt with the swastika from the god save the queen video they’ve all worn it at least once

I doubt this was aired word for word in 1977, the music show Countdown was in a 5.30pm or 6.00pm timeslot. The ABC1 ident in the bottom right corner is a more modern one, this would definitely go uncensored when shown on a late night music show like "Rage"

Still mates til this day 😁. Steve Jones is a radio DJ now for KLOS in California and Paul Cook has been on Steve's show 😁. Steve affectionately calls him Cookie 😁. Truly very close friends 😁. Anyone noticed the black leather motorcycle jacket Paul Cook is wearing is the same jacket Sid Vicious is filmed and photographed wearing in the swindle and in c'mon everybody +something else videos. .just a bit of trivia but it's all there is left after hearing the music for 47 years etc

It's just sad to see what 40 years does to a person.. Having quality colour footage spanning a persons lifetime is still a pretty new thing.. Imagine in 40 years when we're watching youtubers who are still going after 50 odd years.
