While they are still trying to cure Autism (which is between a sick joke and plain madness) there is no true professional help until they stop torturing children and you do adults with electricity ⚡️ and shouting to name two we cannot go forward It’s a kin to misguided Victorian research and Nazi experiments Some of these doctors and professionals and parents need to be jailed Just my opinion but I watched a documentary and I’ll never be the same again it’s sick I hope you don’t find my view to distressing that wasn’t my intention

When I think of male and female nothing comes to my mind, I'm most likely like someone who doesn't know. Sometimes I choose female online if there is no other option. Also, I'm asexual. I have not done a diagnostic test just screening test. I saved a few scores. Autism Canada said I was high risk. I got 38 and 30 to 50 is high risk. I got 20 out of 80 on the empathy quotient. So, I might be Level 1 Autism. I scored better than the average of non autistic people on a Repetitive Behavior Test. I have aphantasia and alexithymia.

I didn't know there was a specific corrolation between Autism and Queer Identity. I knew I was not hetero since I before can remember having a concept of sexuality. I did not know I was Autistic until I was 28. (I recently turned 48.) I always knew I was different, from pretty much everyone I ever met... even from so many other LGBTQ*+ people. I am Non-Binary, primarily attracted physically/sexually/romantically to "males" with a stronger emotional/psychological affinity with "females." I found a few videos, and later some other research, on Autism in females a few years back, and I identified much more with several of the "female traits" and ways of masking, than I ever did with the "traits" often attributed to male Autistics. About a couple of hours ago, I simply decided to search for info that was specific to Autism, in the LGBTQ*+ community, and your video "popped" up... so I clicked! Twenty years in, and I am still learning about Autism in general, let alone all the ways, my own Autism, effects my daily life.

The statistic "at least 5% of pregnancies have a chromosome combination other than that" is presented misleadingly, as if to suggest almost 5% of the population has sex chromosome abnormalities. No! Most pregnancies with abnormal chromosome number, aka "anneuploidies" are not carried to term. Then, you have to consider tht most humans have 46 total chromosomes, only 2 being sex chromosomes. Thus, the number of people born with some sort of sex chromosome abnormality is closer to 1/450.

I'm glad I found this video. I am cis-gay and at 36 years old I recently found out I am on the very end of the Autism spectrum. One interesting thing to me is my autism traits are closer to that of a female with autism than a guy. I think myself and most other gay guys I know has the heart and soul (mental compacity) of a woman so I wonder if that's why my autistic traits are closer to a woman's, or if it's something deeper. I'm wondering if there is any research about depression and autism. Up until age 24 I didn't have or experience anxiety or depression. Once it hit, it hit hard. I can definitely say that if I never had depression I would have never realized I was autistic. The worse my depression the more pronounced my autistic traits appear. For example- before depression I would regularly talk on the phone and have conversations for hours. It always felt a little odd speaking on the phone I always liked in person conversations much better. Once depression & anxiety took over it became harder and harder to have a conversation on the phone. For about 10 or more years I now have a phobia of phone calls specifically for personal calls- calls just to talk. I don't mind business phone calls because they are pretty black and white and for a reason.

1) the autistic spectrum is complex, it's not a simple scale with "not autistic" on one end and "severely autistic" on the other, while some do function at higher levels than others, it's not a given that just because someone is disabled severely in some aspects that they are severely disabled in all. 2) no, having "female" autistic presentation is probably not because you're gay, in fact a lot of men have "female" presentation, including myself, a cis straight man. I think the current narrative is inappropriately blaming the gender differences in diagnosis of autistic people on inherent differences between the sexes, and is not considering enough the role of bias in the examiners. In my experience, even girls with obvious "male typical" symptoms are being missed, because their symptoms are being put down to behaviour issues and personality disorders. Not trying to be mean, I just think there is some bad information going around that I feel the need to question.

If I did, is there a way to do that without making him uncomfortable? I respect him and so r want him to mask. I love him as he is but holding hands occasionally would be nice for me if he also enjoyed it too but I don’t think he would or else he’d do it. I focus on much better connections we have than typical Hans holding and kissing. Hugs a are la second with him patting my back. Thanks for this. I lived in Park City Utah for most of my teenage years. During my sophomore year of high school I never learned about about the LGBTQ+ community and domestic violence. I came out as a lesbian on December 11th 2015 and came out as non binary on February 6th 2021 and officially diagnosed with Level 2 ASD on October 17th 2021. I’m also legally blind as well so that’s why it took so long to get the ASD diagnosis. I knew I was different from a young age with both with my ASD gender identity and sexual orientation. Because of LDS church had a lot to do the lack of sex education in the educational system in Utah . Also it would be helpful if domestic violence was talked about as well . I’m a survivor of Domestic violence rape and stalking .

Apparently this kind of thing is part of our special ed school systems where I live now, and I think it's kind of disturbing, am I the only one seeing this I think it's going a bit too far, there are far more important things for people at such a young age, they don't need that in the back of their head...

And if you think I'm being insensitive to people who have a hard time mentally, then fine, choose to believe whatever you want to - For me personally It's not a hate thing, it's because I actually really like people who have the capacity to be very nice and sweet, but they're deluded into thinking you can just cosmetically change yourself and suddenly be better. Be happy with what you have, because there's always someone who has it worse - that was the lesson we were taught when I was a kid, and it kept me from going through with stupid crap like this. Even Freud understood that sexuality is fluid. At a conceptual level, it is very important to understand this material and research and broaden our minds. At a level of utility and practice; that's different. Especially for young people just coming into their sexuality and dealing with social, romantic longing and frustration; it can be very difficult and challenging to fit all these new ideas in; and it may seem oppressive in context. Guidance and mentorship are essential.

@Glosi dove I sympathize with the gist of the last comment. Teaching gender theory to an autistic heterosexual child already struggling with intense social and emotional challenges growing up...it also strikes me as just too much. For some, it may be liberating. For others though, it may just seem oppressive and confounding. I can attest to that personally. As an young aspie growing up in a very Liberal neighborhood; being bombarded with Gender and Feminist theory in High School INCREASED rather than decreased my horror of sexuality. It made it seem a frightening unintelligible mess.

Please be SURE you know your own identity and spend lots of time with therapy before experimenting with hormones or surgery. THAT can't be undone-no going back and you must understand what irreversible really means. Crying later you made a mistake and didn't know yourself well enough will not help you feel better about yourself in the end. Identity can be an experiment. Grounded reality is when hormones and surgery occur-there is cost, often poor results, complications, revisions. A road only a handful should ever travel.
