I tried to explain as much as i could; how to get a clean locking grip. I hope the video won't be too long, and will be usefull for all the players who asked me for this tutorial ;-) Music from www.bensound .com

It is a very nice video for beginners and regular players. I would add here that locking grip is a better option for beginners. For regular players, to change any grip (other than locking grip) to locking grip is not easy because they are not used to with this grip and all persons playing carrom have different sizes of fingers. One (regular player) has to work hard to adopt and stick to locking grip and wait for better results. Very well narration of different types of locking grips in this video. It will be useful to carrom players who will choose one of the locking grips. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and experience unselfishly with carrom fraternity.🙏

Hi Pierre. Madhu here from Chennai. At @01:00, I had an opportunity to learn this technique ( when I was a kid), taught by 'Bangaru Babu' (considered as father of Carrom by many in India). He had asked everyone to stand, raise our playing hand in front of us at 90 degrees( like taking an Oath) and then crumple the newspaper using fingers alone. It was very effective then to play our shots well.
@seyeah14 жыл бұрын
Wow !! thanks for your experience returns !! I know Sir Bangaru Babu, we met several times in International tournaments. Maybe this news papers technique come from him; and i heard it somewhere. I hope you're still playing and enjoying the game !!

@@seyeah1 I had an opportunity to attend a training when I was about 24. Now I am 36, with a full time job which took precedence 🙂. I recently had an opportunity to interact with you on youtube. Remember 'carrom de club' 🙂. I have started to prepare for competitive level over the last 4 months, with an aim to prove my potential within 2 years. Hopefully our future paths will cross each other 🙂
@user-pz6et7bi5w4 жыл бұрын
@@seyeah1 No doubt I still am enjoying the game. My achievements though, are at a very low level compared to competitive levels 😇. I won 2 years straight when I was in school and a year back, was the winner at my intra-company tournament 🙂🙂. There came the spark back to me! Not everyone makes it to the competitive level like you 😉😊😊

True professional. I like the way you teach. Very detailed. Thank you. I have always played using my middle finger and I can say I am an average player. But I could not get better. I used to see other guys play using the pointer finger and I was just too lazy to start all over again switching fingers. After seeing this video i understood that it is possible to switch esp if there is experience and understanding of the geometric of the game, then all os required is a practice and patience. I have tried and am surprised at the outcome. Using focus patience and experience I am confident.

Thanks for your comment, I was also scared at first to change my grip after so many years playing with the middle finger, but really it was benefic to me. I trusted in Arun Deshpande's advice and he was right, even if it took me several years to become again European Champion, it was a good decision. All the best to you for your improvements with the index finger grip
