@@blackum DDoS would still be an incorrect description imo, it kind of gets overused. The first D id DDoS means distributed, as in, coming from many sources. Which, I mean, depending on how you look at it I *guess* you could argue that each taxi driver *is* an individual source of traffic (pun entirely intended) but if we're talking about the service itself and the roads, it's more of a DoS (?). The line is kind of gray. Still hilarious though.

Depending how long ago it happened might be worth getting in touch with your cellular provider and see whether their system still has a copy of the potentially malicious message. If you could get your hands on it I am sure you could find any number of malware research organisations that would be interested in examining it. Problem is that depending on your operator they may only hold them for as little as a few days to a few months so you want to get in touch asap if you want to try and get it from them. But getting a look at it to see how exactly it managed to exploit the text message handling in order to take actions that should not be possible and then delete itself if indeed what is what happened could help lead to a fix for said exploit.

Those are called "prankware", and they still exist! People are still making them, but rarely. Also, making malware that exploits vulnerabilities in an OS is extremely hard nowadays, the only reliable solution is social-engineering

It's not using the API, it embedded the whole page, and showed it like any browser would. So shutting it down would be virtually impossible.

also people have legit use to use translate outside of the standard web page, especially for tools that use its api to translate stuff outside the web browser for better convenience.

youre clearly not taking into account that there are people who dont know how to even open up task manager or a cmd prompt, let alone make a basic script. this targets people who have no clue nor want to learn how to do it. and all the other apps are bait obviously too.

I don't much like the fluffy folk myself, but "Sucky" might be a better term to use instead of something so specific.

It's an stereotype that hackers have lost everything that made them look cool and proffesional regardless of what they did with their knowledge as hackers went from stealthy cold war spies to noisy weeb furries, they make everyone else in the anime / furry fandom look bad because all they do are illegal tech crimes, braking into server databases they don't own and stealing user data, installing ransomware or malware in the process, releasing it all into public domain, making video game cheats and possibly with malware installed in it, DDoSing people, trolling people as they would say and feeling superior since companies can't legaly fight back, for a strange reason they always use linux and also like to pretentiously brag about linux.

They wouldn't have to hack1 blockchain they'd have to hack 51% of all blockchains globally which is why it's so secure. Even if they did hack it the software could blacklist some blockchains in favor for those non compromised. You can write whatever you want to the blockchain but if you don't get consensus it doesn't matter.
