Unfortunately, I was penalized twenty four points and failed the test. Here are some helpful tips: i) the examiner was pleasant and fair, ii) watch out for pedestrians at crosswalks, especially when driving downtown in the morning. If in doubt, I highly recommend waiting for them to exit the crosswalk before proceeding, iii) you will be asked to parallel park at some point along 5th Avenue North. Afterwards, shoulder check for traffic BEFORE exiting your parking spot, iv) follow SGI's recommended lane changing procedure: signalling-mirror check-shoulder check-proceed, v) be aware of cyclists riding within the dedicated bicycle lanes throughout the downtown core, vi) when turning left at a controlled intersection, rotate through observing pedestrians, oncoming traffic, and the traffic light, vii) exaggerate your shoulder checks, and viii) be friendly and polite to your examiner.
