The ending scene of the episode was so satisfactory 😂...He was a pain in the ass for his father and also he was so immature,easily manupulatable ,vulnerable to toranaga,showed his immaturity during cannon practicing

Agreed 😂 however that being said his father will still have some feeling bout his death. I’m just glad his spoiled immature ass is gone 😂 they got the best actor to play him bc I couldn’t stand seeing his scenes 😂

Thank you Jeremy 🙏. So imo, Toranaga always has multiple plans within plans and he keeps them to himself. People only have isolated pieces of the puzzle/plans on a need to know basic. Toranaga's mind is like russian stacking dolls or maybe layers of onions. The brother's seeming betrayal and Toranaga surrendering is all parts of plans. The brother will be able to position all the soldiers where Toranaga wants them. Never ever underestimate Toranaga's game, he sometimes act/pretend to be defeated or polite, modest and humble to will folks in his own direction. He will be fine. Now Toranaga's son had to go, he was nothing like his father and he didn't listen to his very wise father. Again, he was hanging out with Yabu's snake nephew. Yep, it was time for Toranaga's son to go and they could have Toranaga get rid of him that would have been to harsh for us so the universe took his stupid azz out. Jeremy we'll talk when we meet in the next live. Great review. 💛

I agree, Toranaga, isn't going too expose himself, like that...Mariko, said in the beginning, spies are everywhere and friends are nowhere...too show your true heart is too die...

Omi will pay some price for guiding Nagakado into being impulsive.... again Yes, Toronaga goes to Osaka Castle to "turn himself in" Crimson Sky only works from the inside out, what better way to get into the Castle than to be escorted in

I think Toranaga telling Blackthorne "be on your best behavior" is a way of treating him like a child and reverse psychology. He wanted Blackthorne to act a fool, so that his surrender seemed more believable to Saeki and/or Ishido's spies.

@@JeremyIceAndFire33 Also, did you catch how Toranaga refused to tell Saeki the strategy and kept trying to push it to another day. But when he surrendered he explicitly said "oh by the way we aren't going to do Crimson Sky". Was that code to his Saeki, because his men looked defeated?

@Calinotch06 yea, without spoiling anything, one would think Toranaga would've planned for the possibility of his brother betraying him. They were kind of estranged & hadn't seen eachother in many years. The thought must've crossed his mind

Same. One of two things will happen. Blackthrone act as he did as they just completely ignore and discount the silly barbarian, which they did. He can then get to Edo so that they can rescue or attack Osaka directly. The brother is in on it, and it’s all a ruse to get into Osaka with and army and conduct Crimson Sky from within.

Toranaga’s son was simply another pawn (as is everyone),who are being used/played by the Master, Toranaga. The Master knows each person on his chess board, & what moves they are capable of. Then, he plays everyone (except Madam ;-) to believe one thing while he has multiple plans in play. I just wish the screen writers didn’t take out his son, who wants his father’s approval, in such an ignoble way. That’s not in the book that way. BTW, the casting of the son was wonderful, such a good young actor, kudos.

Still don’t understand. Did Toranaga buy the tea house for five nights for his brother to buy favor? Or because he knew he might need them. Was Kiko about to sword peg him anyway? That’s kinda what I was expecting? She was off to get toys or was she aware that toronaga. Son was there already?

Yea Toranaga was just trying to curry favor from his brother in hopes of striking an alliance to gain his army. Kiku though certainly seemed to be in on the setup at the teahouse. Her leaving to go get toys was most likely a queue for Toranaga's son to attack.

I don't think Nagakado's death will change Toranaga's plans mainly because his son was the cause of his own death. Omi may be punished. If surrendering was a part of a bigger plan, the show must go on, otherwise they all will die in vain.

if it follows actual events the spy in real history was hatori hanzo so his clan maybe ready to take out Toronagas brother as hanzo hatori was his main samurai and the leader of the Iga Ninja clan
