As much as I liked Morse, I think Simon is a better fit. His style meshes better with Purple.

@@ernt03 As long as Roger Glover, Paicey N Gillan are still in the Band - No problem. Don’t forget that after Rod Evans - Original singer of the Band and Nick Simper - Original bassist left the band in 1969, and Gillan and Glover joined, then Coverdale and Hughes joined, when the other two left, Blackmore left in 75 and… What I mean is, the bands rollercoasting history is spinning since their formative years…

I was born in 1985, my dad introduced me to Purple when I was 12 and I'm hooked ever since! My dad's favorite Purple song is Mistreated, he loves the Burn album

Absolutely killed it. Professional outfit all round. Still world class and are one of the VERY few artists around the world that are considered universal or global. I would highly assume that they could literally play to just about any country in the world and be adored for their musicianship and non political stance. Simply about the art of music and entertainment. Perfect. Perhaps how music should be.... Rock ON Deep Purple. May you never die! 🔥🙏🏾🤘🏾

This guitarist is the one closest to Ritchie Blackmore. Very similar intonation. Sounds like the original Purple.

Una de las más grandes bandas de la historia. Infravalorada, en mi opinión. Mantienen la esencia misma del más auténtico rock. Estás aportando dignamente desde fines de los 60. Lo genial es que cada guitarrista que ha estado, aporta su sello personal y la banda de cualquier manera mantiene la energía y una identidad a prueba de balas. DIGNOS. El Olimpo les pertenece.

yep sounds more like classic DP - i would be happy to see them play again.the guitar tone is much cleaner with a lot less distortion

18 лет назад был на их выступлении. Уезжал поездом после полуночи и мимо моего купе прошел парень, который как олимпийский факел, нес впереди себя барабанную палочку, которую Пейс бросил в толпу после выступления. Представляю его эмоции.

Despues de Blackmore (el único y fantasttico) el mejor guitarrista de Purple con diferencia el actual Mr Simon McBride , les da mucha fuerza en los directos. Buena noticia y mala por el motivo por le abandono de Morse, que esperemos tenga final feliz. Long Live ROCK.

El segundo mejor fue el gran Tommi Bolin y después de el Steve Morse, este señor Mcbride es cumplidor solamente, para dejar huella en Purple se necesita estilo y eso lo tenían de sobra los anteriores, este señor es solo un músico de sesión, no tiene trayectoria, creo que seria el momento perfecto de la reunión con Blackmore, pero en fin ya van de salida

Absolutely correct. Such a huge improvement in energy and a return to a harder edge, Steve Morse is great but a bad fit for DP.

Вот, что значит гитарист с эталонным звукоизвлечением. Какой драйв и мощь! Прямо хочется слушать эту музыку. А раньше она не вызывала такого восторга. Видимо чёткие и уверенные без лажи и срача, как у предыдущих гитаристов гитарные партии очень важны в живом звуке.

Somebody here said that Simon doesn’t sound like Blackmore because Blackmore never played a Les Paul. But this seems to be a PRS, not a Gibson. And, by the way, if you look at old DP vídeos you’ll see Blackmore playing a Gibson, not a fender if I’m not mistaken, but not a Les Paul. Anyway, I like the new guitar man. I think he has more soul than Morse, though Morse is a superb guitar player.
