Жыл бұрын1655年（明暦元年）頃、大聖寺（加賀藩の分家）はこの地の陶石をもとに開窯。青（緑）、黄、赤、紫、紺青の濃厚な色彩が自由闊達に踊る上絵は、九谷焼の"美の源流"。近代においては、華やかな彩色金襴手の作風が「ジャパンクタニ」の名で欧米に深く浸透している。
It marks the spot where the Daishoji Clan（a branch of the Kaga Clan）established a kiln in about 1655, to make use of the local porcelain stone. Rich overglaze colors applied wiht fluid brushwork-green, yellow, red, purple and blue-give Kutani porcelain its characteristic beauty. In modern times, the gorgeous Kinrande style has become well known in the West as "Japan Kutani".

I wonder if they have young apprentices? It is a pity if such art disappears, the masters are quite old (and God grant them long life and good health). But in such a case, "young blood" is always needed to whom to transfer their knowledge..
