It's very unusual for the original to be done better by another group but Sha Na Na does it every time.

Lennie has a wonderful voice, i really liked hearing him sing heataches, very nice. I really like Bowser a lot also. He"s quite a character.

I understand Lennie originated the group and was basically the "brains of the outfit" in terms of the group's repertoire and bookings, etc. He also played a great sax! My mom and I always watched this show when it was in syndication and I remember after she heard Lennie sing, she said, "I always like when they let the fat guy sing!" 😉

Lennie's singing voice sounded almost exactly like the lead singer for the Marcels so he had to sing any Marcels song and he did them great too!
