Back when I was a kid, this was one of the shows on the Saturday lineup. Feel me like n this list: afternoon starts with Ba Ba Blacksheep, Rat Patrol, Wild Wild West, Star Trek, MASH, Hee Haw, Dukes of Hazard and Lawrence Welk, then ending with the Saturday Night Live. The Golden Age of eating off a TV tray and you were the remote control. Dad said “change it to channel 8 and by God you hopped up in your socks and slid up to the TV and clunk clunk clunk…

This has to be Sha Na Na's funniest production. Donny & Chico sound as good as Don & Phil and Pam's facial expressions are priceless. I wonder how many takes were made to get it all wrapped.

Sweet. I wonder what Bowser is saying to the fourth girl. Something like "Who told you to run up here?"

This ranks with the Drifters. Denny's got the vocals and the moves. So slick! Great harmony, almost a capella like a street group from that era. RIP, Denny.

Denny's has a great voice and he's probably the best dancer. Very athletic and smooth. What's Chico doing to that upright bass? Major distraction! 😊

I can remember hearing this on the radio circa 1956 and my mother singing along with it. I was 6 then and the song was forgotten until this fabulous ensemble revived it. Sha Na Na's talent and their ability to poke fun at themselves makes them enduring and endearing. But the nostalgia TV channels are missing something!
