In this Shadow of War short, we jump straight into the Eltariel DLC, named The Blade of Galadriel and take up the good fight as the half-elf assassin - Eltariel.
With Talion defeated and Eltariel standing over him, there is only one way to grant the rogue Nazgul his final wish. To aid him on into the next life. And to reunite him with those he loves.
It's a bit of a tough watch. But Eltariel swore she would see him off in a way befitting a warrior.

Anyone else think Talion was done dirty in this dlc, like a complete betrayal of his character, by the writers not by Arterial.

@delta1138e That sounds like some pro-elf propaganda. 🤓🔪 But in all seriousness, it did appear-at times-that they flipped him into a role where he was only bothered by being challenged. He had a lot more drive and depth in the main campaign, 100%. I know his transformation played a huge part in that; but still, it could have been handled a bit differently.

@@Philadoxical only pro elf in the sense that orcs are my favorite fantasy race, and orcs were once Elves in Tolkien's universe.

He was done dirty by this game. SoM Talion wouldn't have been a crybaby over visions the same way SoW Talion was at the beginning of the game. Personally, I think it would have been better if "Shelob" had teased him with visions of his later *dying*, foreshadowing a betrayal. But possibly even giving him reminders through the game that all he has to do is give up the New Ring and he can see his family again. This would set up a situation on the bridge to Barad-dûr where he has to choose family (but also doom for Arda) or duty (but also becoming a Nazgul and eventually loosing himself). Instead we got "waa my friend(?) betrayed me now I want to die."

That response, "I am *banished* from death", is so heart-wrenching, 'cause that's the first thing he heard from Celebrimbor. It's part of what's defined Talion's whole campaign, his whole persona in Mordor. And now comes this Elf, who only made his banishment worse and, from his point of view I think, is trying to punish him from claiming what is rightfully his. All that bitterness comes across to me as he replies to her pathetic "May you find some freedom in death."

Not to forget, she is blindly following Galadriel's instructions, too, for most of the DLC/campaign. And she has the cheek to use that as an excuse.

I think is more of a way of reminding her that in part is her fault that he ended that way, if you remember correctly the phrase, "may you find peace in death" is what Talion said to Isildur the Nazgul when he and celebrimbor dominated him, Talion freed him and ended in the discrepancy between Celebrimbor and Talion, but because of the grid for power of Celebrimbor and the blindness of Eltariel, both ended forming an alliance and left Talion to die alone, but oh surprise, the dumb idea of the elves didn't work, one ended imprisoned and the other lost some of her fingers, and everything that happens after that to this point just worked as reminder for Eltariel that she messed up HARD, at the end she tried to show the same compassion and mercy her corrupted allie showed, only to realize that again, she failed and couldn't free Talion and is her fault that a new Nazgul was born. I know Eltariel is not the best character but I don't hate her, I like how they portrayed that despite being an Elf, she is not perfect and that everyone can make mistakes, some that can affect horribly others if not careful.

@@alanalexis19 I weep for Talion. My brother was betrayed, banished from death & had to wait for years till the fellowship of the ring could come & save him. His ending was tragic. Instead of departing from that world with a smile on his face. He had to die, while serving the villain of the story. Honestly, I am crying 😭 for him

I still get annoyed with her Why didn’t she just give talion his ring back she doesn’t need it and he *clearly* dose What makes it worse is she refused to dominate any orcs...the main function of the ring So talion is bound to a fate worse than death and middle earth suffers because she wants to play at immortality Been like 5 years and I still hate her for what she and candelabra did to my boy

I also really hate what they did with her character at the end aswell as in the dlc. The whole fkin game she kept doubting celembriors actions and in the end where EVERYTHING she suspected turned out to be true she suddenly sides with him?? I really liked her character throughout the game, which made the ending quite exhausting

At no point did she ever think to say. "Hey Talion ol' buddy, ol' pal. You know that life support ring you need cause of.....Celebrimbor betraying you?" "Welp, how about you take off the Nazgul ring, and put this lovely blue one back on? You know, the one i have right here?"

I think cause his new ring already had taken hold, and he didn’t want to chance celibrmbor ever getting free and trying to bind with him again. Then again it would be funny if he came back and Talion was waiting tapping his foot like “SO THE BITCH IS BACK AT LAST. “

Yup. The elves really suck. Even in the actual canon they were buttholes. Cowards even though they regenerate if they die, lots of them racist towards humans and dwarves, and constantly screwing stuff up despite supposedly being so much wiser. Then they go "oh no middle earth sucks now" and leave.

I didn’t expect to actually be tearing up during this fight The main reason was both the music (the same one that talion and his family die and this whole adventure kicks off) as well as we get flashes of talions life that led him to this point just like the other nasgol It’s just sad that he ended up like this all because he refused to control something that was once human so he was betrayed by the only 2 people he relied on for support Then he continued fighting dying hundreds of times and resorting to necromancy to bolster he’s draining strength (despite how much he hated it in the story) while also resisting the rings influence until eventually giving in And that “I am banished from death” Dunno if we’ll ever get another shadow of game Dunno who we’d play as or what we’d even be doing But damn I would’ve preferred it to Gollum

Woman actually thought she can kill talion when she just mindlessly follows orders of another one like Celebrimbor do not forget Celebrimbor literally stated if I believe in an artifact that he and Galadriel are somewhat related they never saw eye to eye

The thing is Celebrimbor can play the hero all he wants to, but he's clearly no better than Sauron he uses manipulative tactics and the way he uses the ring is exactly how sauron uses it, but just paint it blue thats why talion ends up rebelling because he saw Celibrimbor for the guy he really is, a Bright Lord thats no different to the Dark Lord, so if Celebrimbor won, nothing would change and the cycle would just begin all over again

Talion had a better ending than that after the ring was destroyed talions spirit left Arda (LOTR earth) for the after life its where men & women go in this universe after they die , he was reunited with his family & eru illuvatar the god of the Lord of the ring universe, while elves go to the halls of mandos in valinor when they die then get reincarnated into a new body

Galadriel was payback for playing as a male protagonist the whole story of the main game. This chick was an afterthought that they made dlc just for her to best talion. And also put 2 worthless female ringwraiths in the game. Most sjw thing i seen. I like talion tho

I hate her she messed up so bad and she didn't care that she betrayed talion and messed up his chance at defeating sauron. He would have won by the way and she lost she is so weak i hated the way she fights her abilities are trash and she wont even dominate orcs which is the main fuction of the ring and is needed to keep saurons forces at bay. She had no experience with the ring prior to fighting sauron the dark fucking lord and she thought she could to better than talion who at that point was more poweful than sauron. Hell sauron feared talions resolve his experience his talent. I hated playing as her it was boring she couldn't defeat talion corrupted talion doesn't count his light side was much stronger than his dark side
