This mashup is a longer version from the original video • Shadow Queen (Phase 2)...
In Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door remake, the new shadow queen phase 2 music was good, but at the 1:00 mark I miss the use of synths that would add more to the song. And so, I figured to combine both versions together to make it sound so much better.
Combining Shadow Queen's Phase 2 battle theme from both Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door's OST and with the remake together as one musical piece was worth it.
Again, this essentially fixes the 1:00 min mark with the synth added within the remake’s music. If that part was added, I think the piece would have been perfect!

The remake soundtrack is mostly better except for a few parts of some songs that sound like they are missing parts in some places but otherwise sound great

@@IndustrialParrot2816 for me it depends on the song. Some songs were improved with the extra instruments, like the dragons, while others feel convoluted and lost their charm.

I was so angry the remix got rid of 0:58 in the remaster, so hearing it in this remix is such a nice relief. Great job!

0:31 That whailing cry from the original is incredible, and hard to believe how they could ruin it in the Remake. Well, they also put the eguitar everywhere, even where it doesn't fit and made it extra loud.

a lot of people dislike what the remake did and honestly i genuinely prefer the remake's soundtrack over the original. this is a personal thing but i just prefer the epicness and orchestral variation that the remake adds to what the original soundtrack already did good. ... *but* this mashup is honestly better than what the remake did

I'm on the same boat, I think remake ost is way better than og, of course there are elements that should not have been removed in punctual parts of the ost (like the wail choir in this for example) but having heard both ost I'd say remake just surpass the og, not only improving the old themes, but adding new ones that made the game more rich, having a battle theme for each chapter and different variations of rogueport is just an example of how much effort they did for this remake music wise

I think the original is better just because it’s louder and I can actually hear everything that’s playing. The new one is higher quality sure but it’s hard to hear everything the way the old one does it. There are parts that I do prefer in the new one though. I also think they gutted her charge attack. Instead of the bell sound you got back then now it’s some like “darkness” low pitched sound you can barely even hear through the music which is already quiet lmao.

I hear you. You know what I also noticed? They stripped away the audience’s screams during Phase 1 of Shadow Queen when Shadow Queen regains HP. I agree that there are parts fumbled, and the original is preferred compared to the remake and vice versa.

It's odd that for how much musical intelligence Nintendo has shown in other OST remakes, they fumbled on others so much. The worst decision has to be removing that OST from when you go down the stairs towards the Shadow Queen. I was so disappointed when it was just silence.

I missed the extra part the remake track added but still pretty good, is incredible how both versions sound so good combined, overall prefer the remake version but there are parts from the gc one that would fit better, mainly the wail effect at 0:29

I love how this extension plays for about as long as your fight with the Shadow Queen will probably be on a first playthrough. Maybe it was just me, and granted I wasn't as good at the game as I am now which is about 15 years later, but I remember my first fight with the Shadow Queen in the original game being one hell of a slog. (But not in a bad way, just really freaking hard) And after damn near 30 to 40 minutes of fighting her, I clutch it with a Supernova with about 6 HP left! ..Good times.

I got 3 game overs on her as a kid haha. Her life stealing mechanic was no joke for someone who only leveled up HP and FP and had random badges equipped xD

@@georgeg9779 Same! I wasn't as attack power focused then as I am now, so her life drain attack was BRUTAL to deal with since I just had the base 3 damage jump which she could easily heal off.

Thank you so much! I might keep it as is because the original loops while the full soundtrack was very difficult to blend with the original. I did this so that fans and gamers would be satisfied especially with that 1 minute mark 👍🏽

I can actually see why the one minute mark and the 1:16 doesn't sync up properly. I'm unsure if you extracted the games audio itself cause I manage to do so and the music sync up pretty perfectly fine. I also noticed that you cut out the choir part after the 2:00 mark from the original switch version of the song. I got that fixed up and looped recently. I had plan to upload such fix. Unsure if you want it for an extended version or so. Still a great mashup nonetheless

If you don't mind me commenting, I personally feel the removal of the choir part detracts from the mashup. Sure, it loops better (in theory because the point that it cuts into the next loop for this video isn't seamless at all) but I feel like this should have shown both in full because both have parts the other doesn't, and taking away part of the identity of one version isn't fair. Very nice listen overall, but it isn't perfect at all unlike what most others say in this comment section.

@@OmegaBotDXDon't mind either. The effort is there and everyone loves how good it mashups. To me its just weird how said part was cut & not cut in this version which stopped me for a moment. Wpuld have prefered to either have it extended or removed/edited. Even noticable in 2:12. Nonetheless, the matchup of both themes as a whole feels more right than what we got (2 perfect themes made for each other). Its a God send mashup!
