How Laurent Gbagbo held Ivory Coast's democracy to ransom. Subscribe to journeyman for daily uploads:
kzfaq.info_c...
Meet the man behind the political violence in Ivory Coast. For years the electoral process has been held to ransom by President Laurent Gbagbo and his strongman Charles Ble Goude. In this previously unreleased fly-on-the-wall documentary we get intimate access to the powerbrokers behind Gbagbo's iron grip on the country. At the heart of it is Ble Goude who likes to think of himself as Africa's Karl Rove. He's a master of spin and fear, African style. And going on his record, he has the potential to bring about a holocaust in this little nation.

five years down the line after the acquittal of Charles Ble Goude and president Laurent Gbagbo this documentary's producer and their whole team owe some apologies to them for having tarnished falsely their reputation. If they are a serious tv channel and an honest one they should do so. Matter of fact , they should be sued for defamation.

He has taken billions of us $ of credit there, to speed up economy on the shoulders of Ivory Coast's youth! They will have to repay the debt! Or give their resources, what's more probably and in tented in first place!

That's a really comparison considering Zimbabwe has been in a state of economic crisis for a while under Mugabe. At the same time, both leaders were immensely dictatorial and discrimatory (racism against whites in Zimbabwe and discrimination against northerners in Côte D'Ivoire). In comparison, Côte D'Ivoire has been doing much better under Ouattara both economically and, I would argue, politically.

What a propaganda. If someone watches this with a westerner's lenses, it's easy to explained why they would have such a narrow and false idea about what's really going on in Africa. One way to remedy would be to either ask a native, read a book by a native or go there and see for yourself. Then again, truth in this case is subjective.

Pray for God to forgive you on the Day of Judgment. Know that if Blé Goudé or Laurent Gbagbo pronounced only one speech of hatred what would have happened in Côte d'Ivoire would be what we had in Rwanda. The population remained unresponsive because President Laurent Gbagbo and Charles Blé Goudé understood that calling the population to intervene would be a humanitarian catastrophe. Besides, Blé Goudé kept saying: We must avoid the trap of civil war because it was the goal sought by France.
