Joy Division is good but this version not only shouldn't be considered trash but is also better than the original by a large margin. Shadowplay is not one of JD's best songs. This version doesn't actually sound like taking a shit inside a portapotty inside an echo chamber.

There's no comparison to the original by Joy Division, and there really shouldn't be. The Killers obviously admired Joy Division enough to cover their song. Different band, different sound. Different isn't always wrong, sometimes it's just different.

it's always the hipsters my age (27) that say The Killers butchered this song. Even though those same hipsters wouldn't even know who Joy Division was until they learned that this song was a cover. Totally ruined everything JOY DIVISION stands for, the worst cover version I've ever heard, I cringe, while my toes are curling, listening to this. If Ian Curtis was alive he would of placed an injunction to stop this dire version being released.

The original version by Joy Division has as soul. The Killer simply dry hump 80's music and do nothing more. So sad that children mistake the Killers version as music.
