I was pretty accurate when I predicted his year 2 stats so for this season I’m predicting he will average 22.8 ppg, 5.8 rpg, 6.1 ast, 0.9 stl, 0.7 blk, 49% fg, 39% 3fg, 87% ft, remember this

Shaedon is my favorite. If next season, he gets a low fade buzz cut like Jordan Kobe, he's easily going to be the best player in the NBA. He's got everything, the dunks, the putbacks, the stepbacks, the quick pull up jumpers, the 3's, the passing abilities, the 50 inch vert, the mid range magician, lay ups, etc etc but also a nike soft endorsement, I think the trailblazers are now ready for a big win. I wouldn't be surprised is there is disappointment because of a lack of management interest in it.

As a lifelong (age 61) Blazer fan, I have been lazer focused on the team and Shaedon in particular. In my opinion, Shaedon reminds me of Clyde Drexler. Will Shaedon ever be as good as Clyde, that remains to be seen. Shaedon needs to be MUCH more accertive and agressive. He definitely has all of the tools and ability. Last season was supposed to be his "coming out" season but he has injuries. This coming season he really needs to be more of a leader and attack the rim more often and with authority. Drexler was an AMAZING top 50 all-time player. We will see what Shaedon "decides" to do with his career.

Thanks for the comment, so cool seeing some vetran insight on the time. Shaedon definitely shows flashes of Clyde, and other stars similar to him.

He has all the tools but does he have the work ethic to be a superstar? To me there's questions. Why did he not play at Kentucky? Why did he miss two thirds of the season with an injury that didn't warrant it? (granted that could have been a team decision) Does he love basketball enough to reach his potential. I'm not sold quite yet. He seems too chill. I've heard a lot about Scoot's work this offseason. Clingon talks a big game about working hard. But around Shae the topic has always been crickets.

Just looked it up and you are correct. I thought he was dealing with an injury out of HS and thats why he didn't play at Kentucky. Should've confirmed that though, good catch!

The Blazers GM is hooked on Anfernee Simons. It kinda leaves Shaedon Sharpe out of the loop. The only time Blazer fans were polled about which guard to trade.... 95% of Blazers fans said keep Sharpe, trade Simons
@SpazAntics

Agreed. It also helps the two are redundant and Simmons is making 100m on his contract.

I would check again. Cronin said days ago that he intends to build around Shaedon and Scoot. Notably leaving Simons' name out. In any case, if Cronin did commit to Simons for the long term, it would be Scoot that would be the odd man out, not Shaedon. The beauty of Shaedon's game is he will fit well with any combination of players in the lineup.
@pnwdevv
@pnwdevv Ай бұрын
They WERE higher on Simons. But as RonnieLeeDuck pointed out, he left out Simons name. Cronins known to be very intentional with things like that, so sounds like Shae and Scoot may be the pairing long term, but who knows.

Shaedon Sharpe obviously has massive potential, but I wonder if he really wants to become great or if his body will cooperate. Last year was obviously a massive disappointment for all concerned. The fans that want him to play small forward are completely offbase. He's definitely a shooting guard. I would be happy if Sharpe could play 70-75 games with no injuries and show development in becoming a 2 way player. Not sure if the Billups coaching staff is up to the task though.

Love Shae and I’m as excited as the next PNW resident. I love the ceiling but I still think he has one of the widest variance between floor and ceiling in the league and not sure he’s done enough in two seasons to shrink it. Obviously part of it is all the injuries since Kentucky but his style of play - while incredibly intriguing and fun - could project out as a two-way, multi-level scoring all star guard or another empty calorie bucket getter that is a complete liability on defense. This scenario will be even more detrimental when Portland inevitably pays him and he ends up in the Beal, Poole, Oubre, etc where he’s nearly untradable due to his price tag and lack of impact on winning games, really limiting what you can do as an organization. There is a lot of time and opportunity between now and then, and I’m still very much optimistic for Shae. But that doesn’t change the fact there is a lot riding on this season for him.
