Padraig Harrington

Күн бұрын

In this lesson, I discuss the concepts of shaft lean and the release of the club. Pulling up on the club and putting on the brakes at impact, will help throw the clubhead through for the best and most efficient strike, whilst creating spin and distance.

You probably are flipping. It can take a lot of time to iron these tendencies out of your swing. I spent about 1 year doing it hitting about 500 balls a week. Eventually got there with the right feels like the one in this video.

Thank you for all the knowledge you put out there with these lessons. Your points about getting the club head to release resonate with me. Will absolutely give this a try at my next range session. Using the lesson from your grip video and your swing videos, I have corrected a slice that I struggled with for so long it made me give up the game for a decade and a half. Am getting back into playing now and struggling with taking too much divot with my irons. Think it may just be a matter of getting the feel of my clubs and getting the flow back in my swing.

I have only one question at this time. Where the hell have I been? I have been watching You Tube golf instruction videos for eons and have had private in-person instruction from numerous instructors without any discernible improvement. I recently watched tips #24, #43 and #47 and have seen an immediate improvement in my ball striking with not a lot of practice. As I continue to practice, I would expect to see a significant improvement in my handicap. Who knows, I might even beat my wife in a match game or (be still my heart) a medal game. Besides giving well explained and demoed instruction videos, Padraig is very entertaining.

I was rooting for you at the senior open in Wales. That was one shitty green side lie on the second playoff hole, bad break. I’m guessing that in your hindsight there’s at least 3 different ways you could have played that lie. BTW, I liked your video on reading the grain and the direction the grass is growing in relation to club head path, especially on chips and pitches…..that advice is a gold nugget.
