The main reason for the prices they charge is because of the astronomical rent the councils charge to use the huts and the pitches when they are using their own vehicles. Plus, because it's 'Christmas' people will always overpay for everything.

Fantastic video as always Lee. I found your KZfaq channel just under a year ago thanks to the KZfaq algorithm. At the time I was waiting for an endoscopy due to not being able to swallow and keep food down and ultimately loosing over 20 kilograms in weight. I am now finally getting the help (two years in the making) and got diagnosed with Achalisa. I now have a nasal feeding tube to help me get the weight back on so it will be safe enough to have surgery hopefully in February. But my point is without your videos, I would of never found that comfort from when you had your endoscopy and you helped massively. I don’t know Nick personally, but as a human being that has suffered medically to all stick together and contribute is the right thing to do. All the best Nick and the family, stay strong and things will get better. All the best and have a Merry Christmas. Zach.

With councils ripping off the vendors, and vendors having to pass those exorbitant costs to the customer, it's only going to end one way. The way that most weekday markets have gone up and down the country sadly.

A large Somerset city has a very popular Xmas market which is known locally as 50 sheds of s**t.

The problem is greedy councils will charge these traders a fortune to plant their stall on the market, which ultimately just pushes the prices up for consumers. Same problem with the air show in my home town, I had a friend who owned a chip van but he couldn’t afford the risk of paying the huge fees because one rainy day would mean he’d make a loss

I been saying this on my local fb page for years. A catering sausage in a stale bun and an aldi mulled cider for 20 quid! Seen the aldi boxes behind the tents. You 2 are a great double act, always a laugh

Great Video Lee, I haven't been to one of these Christmas Markets in over 10 years. Ever since I went to the Manchester one in 2005 and they charged me £12.50 for a small glass of Mulled wine! Robbing B'stards! LOL xxx

I genuinely hope all these Christmas markets go bust. They've always pushed their luck but in the current climate its criminal. Yes we know they pay high rent but that's because they're guaranteed 1000s of customers. They should all get together and do some kind of offer, main, desert and a drink £12 tops

Apart from the price the thing that amazes me is when you go to a cafe/restaurant the first thing you notice is the health and safety certificates but at these markets the food is uncovered people walking by coughing and spluttering cars etc everywhere causing air pollution and off course the masses of street pigeons flapping about looking for all the scraps and if the food not sold as cooked it sits over cooked and dried up

If I had your videos available to me in my teens, I would have avoided catastrophic blunders and would not have wasted so much of my life struggling to figure it out. But 50 years later I’m still trying to figure it out but now I have your delightful videos to help me feel better about myself. Figuring it out is now a joy because you make me happy, you make me laugh, and you help me deal with my range anxiety. No I don’t own an EV but I seem to have acquired it from you previous videos. And it’s reinforced when I see you in your electric car. I thought you were going to get rid of it! I had a stoma op a year ago, It takes a while to get used to It, plus they found cancer I had chemo and now I am cancer free, tell nick you will fight this always positive thoughts, there will be light at the end of the tunnel, I had 3 months off work from oct to feb 2021 to 2022, I am back to being myself again my gorgeous wife and my family and friends made me realise I am strong, nick you will be ok x

One of the reason these Xmas market prices are so expensive I bet is down to the pitch fee the local councils charge the vendors. Why not ask how much it costs a stall to be there, I think you'll be surprised!

Scandalous £7.75 to ride that big wheel when there’s a energy and food crisis in this country people struggling. £6 for a dog is a bit much also. Agree rip off prices Lee , we went yesterday and there was nobody on the wheel unless it hadn’t started but that must have been about 11am , market was quite poor imo , we parked at the broad marsh bus station 9- till about 4 pm £16 where’s Robin Hood when you need him , btw don’t forget to check out frothy coffee cafe at indoor market, Victoria centre (full of pensioners they love a bargain Lee )

All come to Leicester, really cheap here, coz the council have pulled all the stops out here on a couple of rides, couple of sweet stalls. The tree and lights look fantastic ( NOT) they do have a ice ring right at the end of the town and a big wheel that costs £5 but don't go on it at night coz the lights are so bright on it you can't see a thing. So really worth a trip into Leicester if you want to be really disappointed. Best thing to do is go to the GOLDEN MILE, it's really bright and colourful and looks really christmassy there.

At the Christmas Market in Sheffield it's £5.00 for adults and £4.00 for kids to go on the Big Wheel but people have been commenting saying that there is no view at the top. The Council decided to put it at the bottom of The Moor this year which sounds like a mistake from the comments?

He was telling me about the price of the pitches for traders at events like this, councils want hundreds of pounds for a pitch hence the traders selling their products at high prices, they need to just make a small profit. I'm gonna call it though: The best Xmas Market 🎄 we've ever had in Notts. Well done to James Mellors and his family it is spectacular. The prices though are record breaking £8.00 for a pint, and then you ate supposed to get a £1 deposit back on the glass that doesn't happen!!! Great bars, great food stalls, fabulous live music back to back acts every night. The ice rink thing where you skate around the market square high about the ground is a brilliant way to see the attractions. But it is all very expensive.
