I'm from Barcelona Spain, I started getting to know him and my first concert was with the Mahavishnu Orchestra in Barcelona, also with Paco de Lucía and Aldi meola. He is a musician with a lot of personality

@@jspcarrascowow..I wish I had seen a Mahavishnu Orchestra concert! I too have seen De Lucia and Di Meola, but separately.. all different personalities for sure.

John McLaughlin heard music from another plain… There’s a reason why all the great players want to play with him at some point in their careers! Otherworldly! Thanks for sharing!

'its all about meee', social media generation. Take the energy out of the performance as the space has competing noises.l rather than one source which the audience is there to receive.

Another group that l have had the pleasure of meeting up with after a show at the Schaefer music festival in central Park. They were all a bunch of really cool guys. We hung out and talked like we were old friends. GREAT MEMORIES AND A GREAT CONCERT. ❤😮

This is a vocal version of the song Bridges of Sighs from the first avatar of Shakti that featured John, Zakir, L Shankar on the violin and Vikku Vinayakram on the ghatam. Selvaganesh who plays now is Vikku’s son. And with the violin in the mix it takes one back to the original song

A Qawwali singer is a beautiful addition.
@sidharthasankardas58899 ай бұрын
He is not a qawali singer😂,a Hindustani classical singer,is a composer of many Bollywood musics ,he doesn’t limit himself as a classical musician only he composed western music too
@mikecimerian69139 ай бұрын
@@sidharthasankardas5889 He is not Pakistani I know. The free form and intensity are similar technically. Good thing that he explores. He has a treasure grove to draw on. Like Ravi Shankar teaching Anoushka sitar despite tradition. :)

Surprised (and so thankful) to see them here! It is a free concert (jazz festival) in the center of the city (in an ex communist Eastern European country). I honestly heard nothing else.
