@@maddiem1182 Well it wasn't just about college. Lip became dumber at every season, his choices didn't make sense and it has nothing to do with his addiction. Like the whole Xan storyline was dumb and boring as well. He used to be a smart and sly guy who always has tried to deceive the system, like when he stole robotic piece from a military facility just to partecipate in a Robot fight tournament. We haven't seen this Lip in the last seasons.

I don’t think it has to do with European education, after all this show is based in America. You’re experience might be different to mine though as I’m Australian and white. My mum grew up on welfare and I lived with a drug addict dad that I couldn’t escape, poverty, a dysfunctional family, drugs and abuse make school that much harder.

I also hated that ending for Lip. I expected him to accomplish something big, even after he dropped out of college I thought he would find a way to be successful or something. And then there is this scene from the last season when he is delivering food at a guy's house, and the guy is freaking out over a problem with some coding and Lip takes the computer and solves it while the guy is looking for cash to pay for the food. And I thought that was it, that the guy would hire him and that would take him to that successful life I expected for him, but the guy just pays him and he continues with his deliveries. That scene made me feel so much sadder for Lip because it shows his potential and how it got wasted.

This is not at all how the hood is. They try too hard to be bad Mickey, Lip, Carl, Fiona, and Kev but that's not all how it really is. They should have picked a different city.
