She stands toe-to-toe with him intellectually and isn't afraid to tell him off when he needs it - which is a lot! Sheldon feels safe with Amy, she is his anchor. She's no pushover, she challenges him - he knows where he stands. She is the only woman who understands him completely. The bedroom scene is so loving and tender. Amy is nervous but Sheldon assures her it is his first time as well and they will take their time and "find out together" - no pressure. He wants this night to be a very special and memorable one for them both - but especially for Amy. I absolutely love this show. I love the writing, it's exquisite, heartfelt, sensitive, hysterically funny and touching. I love the 1st rate acting and perfect casting. I hope BBT never ends. I want to see them growing older, having babies, raising those babies. The characters are all captivating in their own way, but most of all I love the relationship of Sheldon and Amy. What a true gem and delight this show is! May it NEVER END!

Harley Quinn Jim Parsons is an acting genius! All his little nervous twitches, fidgeting, and glances up at the ceiling and around as he waits for Amy to emerge - then that sweet, coy smile as he glimpses at her while she's standing there before him in her demure nightgown. (Parsons is SUPERB "filling in the gaps" - where there's no dialogue but phenomenal acting going on. He reminds me a lot of David Hyde Pierce who was superb as the high-strung, fidgety Nigel Crane on Frazier and was amazing at this sort of emoting/acting without words as well.). Mayim Bialik is just as brilliant. Her nervousness here is palpable. Bialik has such amazing control of her voice, the way she can make her voice break in excited anticipation or nervousness. In another episode when she was feigning illness and Sheldon said he was going to rub ointment all over her chest, Amy responded, "You want to RUB something on my CHEST?" The way Bialik lowered her voice and made it sound hoarse and quivery - and then rise an octave and break on the word "CHEST" - TOTAL CONTROL of her voice. She's an amazing, 1st rate actress. I'm so glad she won the Golden Globes as richly deserved and long overdue. She and Parsons are brilliant together. I just love watching them act - chills!
