His origin story is rooted in close calls and overcoming impossible odds, and that's how he has continued to live his life. Meet Shane Hendren, a cowboy who was born in the sky when the nearest hospital refused to admit his mother simply because she's Native. As he recounts his life, it seems as though he's telling the story of many men's lives, and not just his own. In this first episode of the series, we visit him in Bosque Farms, New Mexico, where folks gather at dusk to rope competitively under the bright lights of a local ranch. Join us as we get to know Shane Hendren.

Ya'at'eeh, Mitakuye Oyasin. I wish I could find a nice Indigenous person to train our two horses. I use to train, but I'm disabled now. Our horses are smaller mustangs that were rescued from a kill buyer who had gotten them off of the Apache reservation. We're in Prescott, Arizona.

#MMIR "Every living being on earth loves life above all else. The smallest insect, whose life lasts only an instant, tries to escape from any danger in order to live a moment longer. And the desire to live is most developed in man. He who with sincerity seeks his real purpose in life is himself sought by that purpose. In love abides all knowledge. It is mankind's love and interest in things that in time reveals their secret. Love itself is the healing power and the remedy for all pain. The bringers of joy have always been the children of sorrow. Your heart is not living until it has experienced pain... the pain of love breaks open the heart, even if it is as hard as a rock. As one can see when the eyes are open, so one can understand when the heart is open. God breaks the heart again and again and again until it stays open. Resignation is a quality of the saintly souls. To be resigned means to find satisfaction in self-denial (Self-denial is the denial of one's lower-self). Our virtues are made by love, and our sins are caused by the lack of it." Hazrat Inayat Khan "So Indian policy has become institutionalized and the result has been that American people have become more dependent on government and that the American people have become more dependent on corporations. Indian policy' has now been brought down upon the American people, and the American people are the new Indians of the 21st Century. That's our charge as ancestors of unborn generations: to once again become free." Russell Means There’s something about the outside of a horse that is good for the inside of a man. No hour of life is lost that is spent in the saddle. The wind of heaven is that which blows between a horse’s ears. 🤠👼🏻 Good Heelers are born in the Heavens. 🐴🐮 King Ropes are born in Sheridan, Wyoming - perty' damned close to Heaven! Pair a 🎲🎲
