Hi Shane. I just wanted to give you "props" for admitting that you liked this song and the costumes. So many people are influenced by peer pressure etc. which to me is sad. Tears Are Falling is a great song. It was a great song in 85', and it's a great song now. There was a reason why it was a staple on Dial MTV's fan based request show for months (LITERALLY) when it was released. And I always liked the costumes for this video. Kiss were always bigger than life in a way, and to me this was a logical extension moving forward into the 80's. I also personally always thought the album cover for Asylum was cool, sort of pop art influenced. It bothers me when people love something at the time, then as soon as it isn't in fashion anymore slag it off. A lot of 80's (and even 70's) rock fans did this in the 90's when grunge hit. Not me. I thought Tears Are Falling, Heaven's On Fire, Lick It Up were just as cool in the 90's as they were the 80's. Just like I thought Stone Temple Pilots were a great rock band in the 90's, even though I didn't really grow up with them. Lastly I'll put it this way, I saw Kiss in 79'- and I don't recall ANYONE making fun of the outfits at the show, or afterwards. Same thing with the Asylum Tour. No one was making fun of the costumes then, or after the show. Or for YEARS. Then grunge comes in and because it wasn't in fashion anymore all of the sudden it's "silly" or frivolous in some way and meant nothing. I personally call B.S. At the very least the vast majority of people buying Asylum & Dynasty at the time thought it was cool, including the look of the band. And I still do. It was just a different look, that's all. I'm not implying people don't have the right to change their mind, of course they do. But it should come from within, not because someone else or a new generation tells you to change your mind because "they" think it's not cool. I applaud you Shane for having the courage to say what you said. It may not seem like much, but I think it's important. A lot of bands died painful deaths because legions of people followed trends in the 90's. To me it was (again) B.S. to a large degree. I don't have to see a GEICO commercial to know that Round & Round was a great song. I knew it was great in 84', and I know it's still great. Just like Tears Are Falling. Great is great. Cool is cool. The decade it came out in has no relevance to me, and shouldn't to anyone else.

I was at the kiss Asylum show in Salt Lake City as well. Wasn't that the show where they said they blew the power transformer and the stage power went out? Emergency lights came on inside the arena. If you were there Shane, do you remember this? The era is very strange. Since they took off the makeup. There was only a limited amount of posters magazines and memorabilia you could have with makeup. So from that point on. We thought it was totally cool to collect posters. Pictures and magazines without the makeup. Seriously me and my friends thought they would never put the makeup on again. so now There is way more stuff with makeup posters pictures collectibles. Then stuff without makeup. So I keep waiting. For the true kiss fans. To start clamoring for non makeup era posters pictures and magazines. Because I have a ton of that shit. I also have a mountain. Of Kiss stuff starting from when I was 9 years old. Until I stopped collecting. I won't say I have more stuff Then anybody. But I do have more kiss stuff than anybody I know personally. They called me the kiss vault. as a matter of fact I'm pretty sure I have two sometimes three of everything. Because if you don't have to you can't trade one for something else. And speaking of the Mighty Eric Car. I have a white pristine. Perfectly not scratched or dented Eric Carr drum stick from the animalize show. The day after the show I was roommates with the singer of this band of mine. I came home from work and a drumstick was on my pillow. My roommate's girlfriend said there's a present for you in your bedroom on your pillow. Whatever you do do not tell Bryan where you got it from. I wonder how she got that drumstick? I will try to. make this is short as possible. Kiss rock and roll over 1976 was my first kiss concert. I saw them every year. Sometimes twice once in Salt Lake once in California all the way up until this Asylum thing. Then I had a really bad experience with Ace Frehley. Which turn me off. From the whole first reunions and retirement tour. From that moment. I have not collected one single kiss item or given them a dime of my hard-earned money. And about a year ago when I discovered three sides of the coin. podcast Mitch lafon podcast And anybody that ever worked for kiss in the art Department production Department? Security Department wrote their tell-all books and then podcast about them. And I heard all the truth in the true stories and about how they really are. And what they did and didn't do. I really thought they came up with the idea for the record covers boy was I wrong to have an art Department that does that is a matter of fact, they had one designated guy Who did all the album artwork? Layout From the first album all the way to lick it up. And then all the tell-all and everything and everybody said about them. It was like seeing behind the curtain of The Wizard of Oz. All the ghosts drumming all the ghosts guitar playing Peter didn't do this. Ace didn't do that Bob kulick this Anton fig that just crushed me. I listen to that shit religiously for a fucking year. and I was I don't know why I was shocked to find out that my favorite band. That all grown-ups had been telling me. We're a bunch of fucking clowns We're literally a bunch of grown men. in spandex tights and fucking clown makeup. So yeah, I think pretty much the internet ruined kiss for me. And they did a pretty good job of it themselves. But if you want you can go see him at USANA this summer for a minimum lawn seats. $79 If you would like to actually sit down it's a minimum of $250. And if you want one of Paul Stanley knockoff Ibanez. Iseman guitars You can have one for only $10,000 and he'll take one second to take a selfie with you and the guitar for an extra 500. And if you want the strap, that's only 2,500 extra. Fucking kiss got to love them. They don't advertise this on the end of the road website go to Paul Stanley's website and you can sign up for 1 or go to Gene's website and you can buy the torch that he blows fire with. I know I said I was going to keep this short. So See Ya.

Hey brother, great song. The drum lick "do-do-dodo-do" is actually a John Bonham from Stairway to Heaven. It's one of my go to licks with IronWrath. Eric Carr was the man, great drummer that left us to soon. Saw him on this tour and was a big influence. Keep rocking brother!!!!

Darling! I am still making my way through the older stuff on your channel and I can't believe I overlooked this. Any of your frequent flyers who have seen my comments on related fare know that Eric Carr was the love of my life...and OMG, him in this video still makes me GUSH!! He was so damn adorable. I LOVED the Asylum era and the stage on that tour was everything - that biggest KISS logo ever as the focal point with all it's fabulous color-changing tricks....it was like an Everlasting Gobstopper!! But back to this video...the set was always a little too Land of the Lost for me. The Sleestak totem-poled the TVs when the Marshalls defaulted on their cable bill. And I think the REAL reason why the chick was crying was because Paul stole her lipstick and she ended up with a nasty fever blister from the contamination....what we didn't hear was her hollering, "LOOK WHAT YOU DID TO ME!" when she was yanking the drapes down....

That's crazy. Such a small turnout, I guess all markets are different because the Salt Lake Asylum show was sold out. But at that point in time in Salt Lake City, we only got one heavy metal concert a month, so I don't care who it was. It was pretty much a sell-out. I have been to some kiss shows in California. That were pretty small. On the lick it up tour it was scheduled for the San Francisco Civic Auditorium the day of the show. It got changed to the Berkeley Community Theater. Which come to find out when I got there was actually the Berkley High School auditorium. Needless to say there was only about 1500 kids at that show. And the stage was so small. They barely had room for the tank drum Riser all the other ramps and staircases and all the gloriousness of a kiss show were not there. Seriously, they didn't even bring their own lighting rig in the building. I think they use the high schools lights. Now that I think of it. The Creatchers 10th anniversary tour I saw at the san francisco civic was only 2/3ds full

Kudos to you Dale. It is a great song. In my opinion a lot of the fans who slag it now are just following the trends of what became 90's rock (grunge)- or people who actually listened to Simmons when he slagged off nearly everything Kiss did in the 80's in preparation for the release of Revenge in 92' (which was more heavy and "raw"). I'll never forget him doing it, and I knew it was just marketing, but a lot of fans bought it. There are some great songs on Asylum, and I saw Kiss on every tour from 79'-96' and Asylum was a great show. When I saw them it was the combined Animalize stage set with the additional Asylum pieces added (they changed the stage a couple of times during the tour), with the giant KISS logo that had the lights inside of each letter which could actually change the color of the logo itself! Other than The HITShade Tour, the Asylum tour was the best show I saw Kiss do in the 80's. They were on fire. The crowd loved the show, and our civic center was easily 75% or more full. When Kiss hit the stage it was like the Red Sea had parted. Even our local paper that did a review the day after referenced the frenzy of the crowd when Kiss came out. It was awesome. Kiss were still great in the 80's, and I'm glad I saw them all of those times. Some people are just cowards really. I watched Motley Crue become arguably the biggest rock band in the world they the end of the 80's, then they're playing small venues in the 90's, even after V Neil returned, then The Dirt comes out, hits the bestseller list as a book, and all of the sudden it's okay to admit you liked them and go see them again in the new millennium and they're back in arena's. Ridiculous in my personal opinion. As a fan you either liked them or you didn't. Trends shouldn't matter, but they do to lots of people. Not to me. So again, I give you props Dale. A great song is a great song. Tears Are Falling is a great song. And when I saw them on Asylum, they kicked ass.

Sorry, can't help it for talkin about kiss one last comment. I promise. The Last Kiss thing I did do I think it was in 1992. I went to the kiss convention at the fairgrounds. Horticulture building or some shit that was fucking awesome. They question and answered for about an hour and a half. They did an all request acoustic set for about 2 hours and then they signed shit for 3 hours. Believe me. I got a few classic kiss posters sign that day. And get this at the time we were all freaking out cuz we thought it was so expensive. It was a fucking $100. You know me Shane I don't pay for anything. If I don't have to I met one of the crew guys and we made a trade if you know what I mean. ;-) and he left my name at the door and I got in for pretty much free.

I think he did, after Unmasked I think they were doomed, even though Creatures didn't do as well as it should have IMO I think taking the music off and Vinnie writing those jams brought them back from certain death...maybe not completely dead, but life support.

I'm sorry Shane. I didn't mean to say if you were there my bad meant to say you were there. Do you remember when the power went out? Everybody was freaking out on the edge of a riot. Then somebody came out and said they were only going to do one or two more songs. Anyway that the show was almost over and having seen 8 shows in my life before that. I knew that was straight bulshit. The show was only two-thirds of the way done. And here's a question to all the kiss fans out there question for the ages. I love it. Did Vinnie Vincent save and resurrect kiss? In my opinion not yes, but fuck. Yes. I went to go see the creatures of the night 10th anniversary show in San Francisco. Had no idea Ace wasn't going to be there until we saw the t-shirts and we're like what the fuc? And they introduced him as Vinnie The Wiz Vincent. Not Vinnie the Ankh Warrior Even says in the 10th anniversary tour book that I got. Vinnie the wizard Vincent don't know where the fuck that Ankh Warrior shit started. Anyway, if any of you guys saw that tour or have the tour book, you know, how badass it is. It has all six makeup wearing KISS members in it. I love that Vinny thing you did. That was too fucking funny, dude. In my opinion though. As much as I love Vinnie. I did not love the Vinnie Vincent invasion. That's the problem with guys who are in huge bands like this. Such as Ace they leave the band. They think they're going to have the same success as said band and they fall flat on their fucking face. I wish Vinnie would have just stayed under his Rock and let the mystery live. Cuz if you listen to some of the podcast and some of the shit this guy says holy fuck. What a Fruit Loop And if you remember from that Asylum show after everybody poured out. I always stick around and look on the floor for pics and shit trying to get Roadies to throw me shit. Which they never ever fucking do cuz they're such dicks. And they're working. But on this night it was a different situation. Maybe because the show ended early and they felt bad. They were throwing tons of shit out To the kids that were left hanging around. A roadie through a pic in my direction. And much to my surprise. It was three Paul Stanley pics stuck together. I don't think it was a bad deal 2/3 of a kiss show 3 Paul Stanley guitar picks score! Sorry people. I have such strong emotions for this band. I can't say shit without writing a book. I hope you enjoy my kiss stories. Maybe I should write a book life of a kiss fan what I do and don't think And my experiences with some members. about the world's greatest band
