Hey guys! We know everybody wants Arcane episodes 8 and 9, however, Madison has been sick so we haven't been able to record lately. Good news is she started feeling better these past 2 days so we recorded Arcane already but now it will take me some time to edit both episodes. In the meantime, I finished our Shang-Chi reaction that we recorded weeks ago. We hope this video will hold you guys over until our Arcane episode 8 reaction drops on Sunday! One of my favourite things about this movie is the fact that Shang Chi is truly the product of both his mother and father and you can see it reflect in his fighting style by the end. He defeated his father by using his mothers softer fighting style but he defeated the Demon Dragon thing with his fathers more aggressive moves! I love it!

My favorite Marvel movie to date!!! I loved the Mandarin portrayal in this movie. Such a complicated "villian". He made me cryy and some how hit me in the feels with goosebumps. I actually felt bad for him. He just wanted his wife home and his family whole again. Soo amazing. Of course he was a terrible father but even in the end I could argue his kids even forgive him and loved him. They understood he was being manipulated

So, a couple things you might wanna know. The guy on the bus is actually the same character as the guy who told Spider-Man to do a flip in Homecoming. Secondly, the behemoth Wong was fighting is Emil Blonsky, the Abomination from the Incredible Hulk. They just redesigned him to look more like the comics. Also, the fight on the scaffolding is an homage to classic Jackie Chan from his Chinese films. Not sure if you've seen any of those, but the choreography is always amazing and often really hilarious. And the fight between Shang-Chi's parents is an homage to the wirework done in many Chinese films, like Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.

Awkwafina was one of the best parts of this movie lol. Her show "Awkwafina is Nora from Queens" is HILARIOUS

Great reaction. I need those shirts! Quick fact, The Great Protector dragon is actual female. His aunt mentions that when she tells the story. One more cool thing. That music that plays when Shang-Chi is spinning the rings inside of the Dweller in Darkness, is a combo of the mom’s theme and the dad’s. Shows that Shang-Chi is both like his aunt said.

One of my favorite MCU movies. It started street level and progressed to world ending. Those RINGS are BADASS!

When Wenwu and Master Guang Bao have their little face off and says "Be careful how you speak to me, young man", he's not actually saying that in Chinese. He's actually saying "I've eaten more salt than you have rice", but they changed the subtitles since most westerners would probably be confused at the moment. It's a very chinese insult.

The Great Protector looks amazing in all her scenes. So well detailed and one of the best examples of CGI Marvel has ever done

I've probably commented this on numerous 'Shang-chi' reaction videos 😆😅, as a Filipino and half Chinese,i still cant get over the fact and love how well versed the Chinese languages is used❤️, particularly Mandarin which is the universal language and most used next to Cantonese. traditional or simplified Chinese❤❤❤❤❤❤ I also love the Chinese mythological creatures presented in this movie during their trip to "Ta Lo" such as Morris known as "Hundun" and the weird looking horse Trevor called to is a "Qilin"🥰🥰🥰 Shang-chi might have reinvigorated me to study and work on my chinese again 😅❤️

My guys, I am glad that you watched it. One word to describe Shang-Chi? *Magical.* I cannot believe I waited this long to finally see what everyone was talking about. I'm absolutely kicking myself for not having watched it earlier. I'm also upset at myself that things were spoiled for me without having seeing it. Now, after finally watching it, I am freaking in love with this movie and its mythology. Also, love the mystery and cosmology surrounding the Ten Rings (and other mystical weapons coming later on). Also loved how tragic it was. Wenwu/The Mandarin is one of the most compelling MCU villains I have ever seen. So heartbreaking, so menacing and so formidable. Shang-Chi himself? I automatically welcome him as a future Avenger. Also, the possible return of the Ten Rings organization, now under the management of Shang-Chi's sister, is quite intriguing. Also, now that I have seen it, I can now see why Shang-Chi director Destin Daniel Cretton is directing Avengers: The Kang Dynasty (aka Avengers 5). I now have the utmost faith in him delivering another fantastic MCU movie. I not only cannot wait to see this again, but I cannot wait to see an eventual sequel. God, this movie is so amazing!

7:15 “Is he the bad guy?” No, you’re supposed to think that Shang Chi woke up in the morning, did push-ups, and then drove a nice car. When you see the man’s shoes, you’re supposed to assume that it’s Shang Chi wearing nice shoes, wearing nice clothes, and driving a nice car. The humor is that it wasn’t Shang Chi at all. It was a man who threw his keys at Shang Chi, who’s supposed to valet park the man’s car.

Great point about action movies and the amount of action in them. One of my biggest pet peeves is going into an action movie and there not being enough in there. Whenever I bring up that point, I feel like I'm being judged by some people, but call me crazy, if I go into an action movie, I expect action in it. If I wanted to watch some super heavy dramatic character study, then I'll go watch that. It's different expectations, so I had a similar reaction with Eternals as you two did, which I thought was fine overall, but it just was a ton of exposition and not a lot of action in my summer blockbuster. Shang Chi on the other hand delivers the action goods in spades, and what's more, it also had good character and plot development (for an action film), making it a super enjoyable watch. In fact I'd go so far as to say that in terms of pacing, Shang Chi might be one of the best paced MCU films in the library (again, another sharp contrast to Eternals). There's literally almost no point of the film that feels slow or redundant, nor rushed or confusing.

This was one of the last movies BRAD ALLAN and passed away before it came out. He does the fighting and action choreography and was in the Jackie Chan stunt team. First non Chinese. He also played the villain in the movie Gorgeous. Amazing martial artist. If you watch Assembled on Disney they even said the bus scene was an homage to Jackie.

One thing I wanna note for everyone else is the creatures in the other dimensions are mostly chinese mythological creatures based on water and air, hence the water/air dragon and air manipulation skills from said dragon, not only that but when the group entered past the maze there was a circular portal opening to the other dimension which hints how very similar it is to Wong's group where they can astral project and teleport. Being from different cities of dimensions while being able to manipulate reality and the mythical I can only assume these 2 will have an amazing crossover. Wong & Strange's magic represents fire while manipulating earth in a mirror dimension whereas the other is water, protected by a water creature with the skill to move like and control the wind, i wonder how far back these two sides connect both by magic and their mission to fight/gatekeep the darkness.

Did you guys ever see that Marvel one-shot called "All Hail the King"? It shows a bit of what happened to Trevor after Iron Man 3. It did not hint at this movie, but it is a good transition. The more times I watch this movie, the more I actually love it even more than when I first saw it in theaters. Honestly, initially I loved the first half of the movie more than the 2nd half. But, I am starting to love the 2nd half almost just as much now after more rewatches. At the same time, though, I also get sad being reminded seeing Simu Liu that his show Kim's Convenience was canceled and the way it was canceled (not due to low ratings). I loved that show! I look forward to seeing more of Shang-Gi in the MCU. I hope, though, that Shang-Gi and Katy stay friends in the movies going forward and there's not this compulsion to make them a couple in the MCU. I like the friendship dynamic more. Imagine seeing that bamboo fight scene in IMAX. Jackie Chan would be so proud! As ruthless as Shang-Gi's father was, at least Shang-Gi learned to become a great fighter because of him. Even some great rebels fighters in Star Wars learned their skills from the Imperial Academy.

Ummm, Ok. I don't mean it in a rude way or trying to make other people think the way i do. Yes, Eternals felt weird, yes, Eternals felt different. But, if you think about it the way we all should. We just need to be graceful they introduced us to more than 10 new characters in just 2 plus hours. While we spent years learning about all the other characters.
