I ABSOLUTELY love "Swining with My Eyes Closed"! This song was released a few months after my husband died (four years ago) and I was and can,, relate to it. I felt like I was swinging with my own eyes closed.

He used to call me at work if he saw a new Shania Twain video to tell me what she was wearing; meaning I needed to get the same kinda outfit ASAP !!!! LOL. You should check out some of Shania's back story. Her name (Shania... pronounced Sha-ni-a with a hard I sound, soft a. SHANIA means I'm on my way in Ojibwe. Her stepdad, who she called dad, was First Nation. Her mom and stepdad died tragically in an accident when she was 18, and she held the rest of the family together til they hit 18.

Many Country acts like Shania had their songs like this given a dance remix for the non-American markets, with one of the worst being Lee Ann Womack's dance remix of I Hope You Dance, which took away all of the feeling in and meaning of the song.
