For those that didn't get the Mihawk not fighting Shanks part, they already explained this with Hancock on her island. All the Warlords there do not want to be there nor do they want to fight. One of the agreements to being a Warlord is that the Navy will leave you alone and turn a blind eye to most things but you have to aid the navy if they call upon you. Rewatch the Hancock scene with the navy messenger. They told her you must join this war or else you and this island will be put back on the wanted list and chase them all down. The agreement was made and Whitebeard is dead so why stick around in a fight that's not yours to begin with? If you notice in the whole war, none of the warlords was even trying to fight? They sat around unless an enemy got close to them.

I don't really see the "sitting around" part for most of them. Moria and Doflamingo were both excited about the war with Moria using all of his abilites and actively attacking and Doflamingo stepping in multiple times trying to stop people. Mihawk yes, even though he did attack a couple times and tried to chase down Luffy and some other characters, he used nowhere his full strengh. Blackbeard was actively fighting aswell, be it for his own plans though, and Hancock all the other warlords were just fighting for Luffy

Oda's foreshadowing here at the end of Marineford is fucking amazing,with all the players going out to sea to find what Whitebeard promised. Bonney seems especially weird,given that she was crying at the broadcast of the Pacifista killing the pirates and said "it's all his fault,I'll find him sooner or later". Wonder what's going on with her. Also, in retrospect, Doflamingo saying "the order came from someone much higher up the ladder" gives me the chills. This dude is scary as hell. Rip my mans Moria,he died as he lived: not contributing enough to matter and letting others do the heavy lifting. P.S.: the Mihawk fraud allegations are so funny man,no matter the context. Dude DEFINITELY painted his sword black to look cooler.

The navy losing doesn’t mean just losing face and letting ace get away, it means anarchy. 99.9% of pirates are like Blackbeard and Kid and then the .1% are pirates like Luffy. As much as we support Whitebeard and Luffy, them winning comes at the cost of the rest of the world. That’s why I give slack to Garp cause his choices wasn’t Ace’s life or the navy, but Ace’s life or the world.

And the individuals that rule the WG are arguably more evil than the likes or Kid and BB. Also a big reason as to why people like Kid or BB even exist due to corruption. It’s not as simple as that. Also, isn't it funny how WB dying made MULTIPLE twosn in the New World being ravaged by Pirates where WB protected and kept peace for those islands. Now you have BB as the replacement who is hell bent on taking over the world. I don't see how WB and Ace losing is better for the world at all. Makes no sense.

Blackbeard isn't scared of going against Shanks per say, it's just that out of all the emperors, Shanks is probably best equipped to fight him because Shanks doesn't rely on a Devil Fruit power to fight, so that already makes Blackbeard's Dark-Dark Fruit power less useful in a fight against Shanks.

"Big Mam" is a transliteration of the katakana in her epithet "mamu". But it's pronounced like "mom", and later translations use Big Mom. It's just an early version before the intent of the name was made clear to the translators. Like Rogutetown = Loguetown, the people doing the translations don't have all the information Oda has in his head and have to make guesses, and sometimes they miss.

Sengoku, Mihawk, and Blackbeard weren’t afraid of Shanks. Sengoku was over fighting and the Navy had already won. Mihawk agreed to fight Whitebeard and he’s a man of his word but fighting shanks wasn’t part of the call to arms. He respects Shanks but ever since Shanks lost his arm, Mihawk hasn’t wanted to fight him since he doesn’t view it as a fair duel. Blackbeard was the one who gave Shanks the scars over his eyes and apparently did so without underhanded tactics prior to getting either of his devilfruits. He wasn’t afraid of Shanks, he just didn’t see the point in risking his new crew And No Bon Clay didn’t defeat Magellan, the new Blackbeard crew did

And he had the scars even before that, very likely when they were still much younger before Shanks even fully formed his crew because he has the scar before he even had a jolly Roger. Comparing bb to Shanks because of that event is like Comparing Lucci to current Luffy because of Enies lobby Losing an arm might affect his skills but it does nothing to diminish the growth of his god tier haki. Blackbeard would've gotten absolutely destroyed if he fought him, like completely low diffed, one kamusari one shot style. He literally just got low diffed by dying old whitebeard who Shanks equals or far exceeds. And there will be no df to nulify with Shanks Even 2 years later when Blackbeard has gotten better with his powers, he was going mid diff with Law despite ambush and crew advantage while Shanks was half shooting kidd. The gap between them is IMMENSE. Dude couldn't even stand and fight Akainu, you think he has a chance against freaking Shanks? Lmfao

This arc puts into perspective why the Marines tolerate the Seven Warlords and let them get away with so much. They have mentioned that the whole point is for the Marine-Warlord Alliance to act as a counter to the 4 Emperors. Now the might of both were pitted against the might of just one Emperor. The marines may have won but it was a devastating battle. I'm sure if theh hadn't just fought Whitebeard the Marines would not have hesitated to fight Shanks, but back to back was too much. No wonder they were scared of Whitebeard and Shanks just having a meeting and why they stopped fighting after Shanks appeared. Honestly the 4 Emperors seem like they far outstrip the Navy and Warlords in combined strength. The only thing holding it back is that the Emperors are all enemies.

And also the fact that Shanks has a sword, Shanks is also a swordsmen, those 2 literary fought, yet Mihawk still got the title of the strongest swordsmen (Only way for Shanks to be stronger is if he's better on other aspect, or Navy just deciding that on their own after Shanks lost an arm even though it's not confirmed, but that still shows how strong Mihawk is, and considering the 2 literary fought, there's no way Mihawk is scared). But oh well, lol XD

Akainu is shown many times how he cares for the world and its people. He's far from evil, in fact in terms of DnD alignment he'd probably be Lawful good or at least Lawful neutral. He's just very ruthless when it comes to trading lives for the cause. In his mind it's a very easy decision to kill 100 pirates if it saves 1000 villagers for example. And let's be honest, there's almost no pirates that are like Luffy, most are bloodthirsty raiders, pillagers and murderers. I like him as a villain because he's not purely evil for the sake of it like BB for example. He has his code of absolute justice and just doesn't want to waste the time to see if every pirate has done good or bad things, for them they are all evil. Just like for many people all Nazis (during WW2) were evil, no matter their deeds.

I assume your further ahead but Sengoku agreed to let Shanks take Whitebeard and Ace and avoid fighting because he knew the power balance in the world was already messed up with Whitebeard gone and that the real chaos was only beginning so losing more manpower and another Emperor really would only screw the Marine's in the long run

+ The marines were already exhausted and very injured meanwhile they'd be going up against another Yonko crew, one that's still totally fresh (and in his prime). Whereas even the strongest marines took a fair amount of damage, and Akainu in particular was probably close to death
