Trevor Lawrence took to Twitter to clarify comments he made to Sports Illustrated about not playing with a chip on his shoulder. The QB said quote, 'I am internally motivated - I love football as much or more than anyone. It is a HUGE priority in my life, obviously. I am driven to be the best I can be, and to maximize my potential. And to WIN. I have a lot of confidence in my work ethic, I love to grind and to chase my goals.' Hear what Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe have to say about Trevor Lawrence's perceived lack of motivation in the media.

If you watch the Tampa Bay celebration in the locker room after they won the superbowl that's on KZfaq they were going around showing player everyone was celebrating and Tom was already packing up about to leave while everyone was still celebrating but in 2018 after he threw 505 yards 3 tds and 0 ints and they lost Brady was depressed for months after that game. There has never been a more true statement than what Shannon is saying winning feels great yes but losing hits you so much harder.

He can have interest in life. But, not at this point in his life. He needs to be all in on Football. He needs to eat and sleep football. This is the career he is choosing. So, football needs to be top priority. All that other stuff can wait until football is over. This is going to pay for that nice house his wife is going to want. All the greats, not just in sports. In business they burn candles at both ends to be the best. If they don't, then they are just average. When Luck played football, it was football all the time with him. When he burnt out he quit. I appreciate that

To counter Shannon's point - read Tony Dungy story - he told the Colts owner that football is not his life. He had a pretty a good career and won a SB. I would rather have somebody who can play but maybe not as nuts as Brady or Belichick. Not to confuse with Leaf or Maziel or DeMarcus Russel, though, who had NO INTEREST in playing football.

People only make comments like that at the end of their careers when they have accomplished and earned the right to say that. Trevor Lawrence hasn't even started his career. He has a lot to prove. Being a franchise QB comes with a lot of burden and responsibilities that you can't take lightly and you have to shoulder and take very seriously. Football is life and death for most of his teammates not to mention coaching staff so he should be on the same page . Of course life is more important than just football, when you're done or outside of it but he's about to enter it and he needs to have more of a killer mindset, it's also the attitude and mindset and quotes from the people closest to him that's concerning.

Interesting nugget I've been paying attention to. Chris Simms has been money on his QB evaluation predictions the last 5 years. He had Zach Wilson as the best QB in the draft.
