I’m Glad Perk made that point…a lot of this generation of athletes do not love the game as much as the previous generations. But they’re making astronomically more money…it’s the love of what the game, and being famous provides for them. And I get both sides of the spectrum…it’s crazy to see. But, we can’t expect guys to care more when the new norm says you can make more while doing less. It’s a double edged sword for sure.

It was also a great point about seeing which way these contracts are going. I’ve NEVER seen an nba player lose guaranteed money for something non-criminal. I was convinced Ben Simmons with how many games he sat out would hurt the players when it was time to re-negotiate the CBA. The owners want any reason to shift the power back to them and they keep being given reasons.

As long as the Pelicans understand that trading Zion is not going to put them in a better position to win. Most people have forgotten about the Anthony Davis saga and the "That's All Folks" Shirt. I find in interesting that another big name star is seemingly coming to the conclusion that he doesn't want to be in NOLA. Let's not only talk about Zion's weight/injury challenges. Let's have this conversation as well. Something is not right with that organization and people are overlooking that.

I think Zion wants to ball, but maybe he doesn’t have the desire to be one of the all-time greats. I think the knock on him is that he actually has the potential to be one of the all-time greats. But his recent play seems that he’s content in being a well-paid NBA pro.
